Saw Salt this evening, and was surprised how much I liked it. My son picked the flick, so I was just there to watch, but it was really a pretty decent movie. Angelina plays a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. A few plot twists that I didn't see coming. Overall a good action flick.

I was surprised by how entertaining Salt was. Cold War spy intrigue, Russians as bad guys, and Angelina Jolie running into one crazy ass action sequence after another. I liked it a lot. I had a great time.

I do hope Salt launches an action franchise for Angelina Jolie. I'm totally down for Angelina saving America from evil Russians, comrade.

I thought it was funny that Andre Braugher is in the movie for less than 10 minutes and has maybe two lines, but he gets fourth billing and his name on the poster.

That's because he's just THAT GOOD.

The ONLY problem I had with this movie, and it's silly little thing admittedly, was watching Jolie run. She runs like a completely uncoordinated goof.

It became an instant classic once Braugher appeared. I had no idea he was in it. Kept a smile on my face the rest of the movie.

Totally one-dimensional, but I loved almost every minute of it. Jolie really pulled something off here. Seemed like the part was made for her, even though it wasn't.

There were some really cheesy parts: Orlov's exposition at the beginning, "Go get 'em!", the activation meter (which reminded me more of Austin Powers than James Bond).

Stunts = incredible

This thing kinda played like the beginning of a comic franchise. Hard to believe that there won't be a sequel, and even harder to believe that (based on the ending) it won't be called

Salt and Pepper. Sorry, it was waiting to be said.

@John: OMG, yeah. That produced a LOT of noise in my theater. Insane.

Don't want to resort to spoiler tags, but I just want to hype up: THE FINAL KILL SHOT. How Salt finishes off the main bad guy and the long, amazing shot of her doing it.

I want to see Salt again just for that shot.

Some would view this as an unintended compliment. At least, I would.

Unrelated, I *love* the JV Starfuckers. I have all of their albums.

I watched the movie today. Fun popcorn movie that I enjoyed more than I thought. Good acting all around; loved that Angelina chin quiver when seeing her husband.

For all the early talk about summer movies being terrible, we have hit a virtual golden age in this latter half of summer 2K10. I really liked Inception, Salt and other movies. Plus Despicable Me and Toy Story 3 got great reviews as well.
