So far so good, very fast, no lock ups so far at the sites visited. Apple is really starting to push the buttons for the takeover, new MacBooks Pro, Leopard and of course the iPhone. What will come next?

I just downloaded it and it looks great. Except for one thing: it's not displaying any text! Any idea why? I'm not just talking on the pages, but on the browser itself, the menus, everything. It's very minimalist, but come on!

Odd, I'm seeing everything fine, it should be gray borders and black text. I am running XP I don't know if that could make a difference.

Went to the Apple support page looking to see if any other users have had this problem...by the looks of things, yes. It seems to be a font issue in XP. However, the quick fix that was detailed did not work for me, so I will await a patch. Sad, really. My fiance got a mac over the weekend and I fell in love with safari.

I'm using Safari now, this is one of the first pages I've visited with it.
The overall rendering is nice, though the font looks more 'Comic Sans'-ey than Firefox or IE. The bookmarks are annoying to get to (ifthey're imported, I can't seem to tell it I want the imported ones on the Bookmarks bit). It feels very much like Firefox with Apple styling (I presume it was built upon Firefox?). The biggest question is di we really need another browser?

Actually, after thinking about it, I probably have IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Spacetime 3-D and Mujig (a WIP project) on my comp at anyone time, and usually use Firefox. It just EATS resources but IE is rubbish, Spacetime is absurd, Opera gets in my way and Safari, well, I'll give it some time

Which browsers are you guys looking at?

I Normally use Firefox, but I've got IE7 as well.
I just downloaded Safari - using it now like the others so far.
I'm not a huge fan of the look right now. Some tweaking required.
I managed to import my Firefox bookmark file manually.
It seems pretty functional so far........

ANy advantages to using this, as opposed to Firefox or IE? Keep in mind that the last Mac I used was a Mac SE back in high school....

So far basically, the speed, I'm a power browser and I can feel the change of speeds between the different browsers. It still doesn't have all the goodies that Firefox has. I did start to play with some of the iPhone apps people are doing using Safari and that's tons of fun so far. I'll stick with Firefox, but if Safari comes out with new goodies, the change will be coming soon.

Honestly I'm not getting a speed difference from it. And judging from the early returns on forums around the web, neither are most users.

Not many features, crashes about as often as Firefox. I would say don't waste your time.

This is awesome. I'm a faithful Firefox user, but if they're willing to offer it to me for free, I'm willing to download it and keep it on my PC. It'll be quite useful for my web programming even if I don't use it for day-to-day browsing. :)
