2006 inductees include Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Syknyrd, Sex Pistols, Blondie and Miles Davis. Pretty damn impressive class.

I wonder what brought about the sudden turn around concerning Sabbath, Syknyrd, and Sex Pistols? All of whom should have been no brainier first ballot inductees. Anyways...should be a hell of a jam session.

I agree with everybody BUT the Sex Pistols. They were useless, had ONE album, were basically the boy band of punk, and werent that terribly talented to begin with.

Wow, Skynyrd is just getting in there? That's surprising. I've always thought that LS was the best American rock band of the 70s. Am I alone in thinking that? Aerosmith could give them a run for their money I guess.

I must admit that I have never paid much attention to the admittees to the Rock Hall, but I agree with you. I'm dumbfounded that it took this long for Skynyrd to be recognized. I've always felt that "Freebird" got way underranked when those best-song-of-all-time lists started coming out around the year 2000.

Didn't Black Sabbath turn this down once already? I thought Ozzy said it was meaningless.

Ozzy said it was meaningless every time they WERENT chosen. I am sure Sharon will be pulling the strings that make Ozzy say "I'm humbled by the honor" so she can make MORE cash off of him.
