God, he's still doing the Crow gimmick 14 years later. There's an entire generation of WWE fans who not only doesn't know who Sting is, they also don't know what The Crow is either.
Wrestlemania is in Atlanta, so yeah he'd get the biggest pop if he showed up. I think he's remembered by more than you'd think. I think even if he wasn't it wouldn't take long for him to get over big time.

Sure, it was in a throwaway tag match, but it was still cool to see the core ECW guys get one big moment on the big stage.

That is amazing to me. With all the random title changes over the years the fact he never had a 12 second hardcore title reign, or some sort of wacky tag title reign with Jim Ross is kind of incredible.

| #72 Posted on 18.1.11 1301.51 | Instant Rating: 6.80 | WWE has quite reasonably not put Lawler in a match at Wrestlemania since, y'know, they need him for commentary. But probably their best slot for him to actually wrestle (sort of) was that divas Playboy tag match a couple of years ago. Santino was cornering Beth and (I think?) Melina, so Lawler could've just officially joined Maria and Ashley to make it an intergender six-person tag. I'm sure the King always dreamed his Wrestlemania moment would come with Snoop Dogg as the referee.

Jerry Lawler outlived his usefulness in the WWE years ago and I'm not all that sure why he's still even employed.
When he was an active wrestler you could argue that there was a place for him, but then he transitioned into "PUPPIES!!!" which was unbelivably annoying and now he's just boring without JR there to work with.
I never want to see Jerry Lawler wrestling on a PPV, much less a WrestleMania. Give him his one pointless match a year on RAW and let that be it. | JustinShapiro

I would agree that Lawler jumped the shark as an announcer about ten years ago, but it's not like they have anyone better. Imo Josh Matthews is the only tolerable announcer they have. JBL is not coming back and neither is Heyman.

Scott Stanford has a pretty decent old school "just call the match" delivery. It works well on Superstars. I'm not sure how he'd do on one of the bigger shows.

Lawler's match with Miz was quite a lot better than Randy Orton's.
Seeing Lawler in the ring these last couple of weeks makes me think that they really have been missing the boat on him for years.
Jerry Lawler hasn't been effective as an announcer forever, but he still can go for an old guy in the ring, can get over as a heel or a face with his mic work, and could have been getting over younger guys in upper midcard stables instead of playing Raw's #1 cheerleader.

I guess, but if you're a young guy and you beat Jerry Lawler; all you've managed to do is beat "that old announcer guy who doesn't even wrestle" (in the eyes of the kids). How is that going to get the younger guys over?
