I'm sure that I'm in the minority here, but I could go the rest of my life without seeing Goldberg and be perfectly content.

Goldberg didn't have a passion for wrestling when he was in the business. He thought it was a joke and just an avenue of movies then. Now, it's this thing that made him a lot of money, but he didn't love it and if he ever does it again it will only be for money.

That's probably a great attitude to have as a professional, but at the same time, it makes it hard for me, personally, to either pine for his return or to even give 2 shits about whether or not he ever returns to the ring. He and I are both happier with him being "Bill Goldberg, Celebrity", so let him stay that way.

Which one is the WWE title match? Or is that reserved for 2 superstars not mentioned?

My unlikely scenario had Lesnar holding the title through WM and Punk winning the Rumble, but Brock is only contracted for 3 matches per April to April, so probably not feasible.

Failing that, I guess Orton vs. Sheamus, with a Bryan run in between Orton title reigns, would work as a title match as part of a smorgasbord of main events. Or maybe there's a "something for everybody" card with ...

Undertaker/Lesnar (streak + crossover star match)
Cena/HHH (the indulgent family saga with all the big names)
Punk/Bryan (WWE title, Rumble winner Punk vs. reigning champion Bryan)

Punk vs. Bryan is the match Paul Heyman said he wanted to see at Wrestlemania. One way or another, I think the long game is Punk challenging in the title match against somebody, because Punk getting back his WWE championship always comes up in the Heyman/Punk promo wars.

If I was assured that everything would definitely go the way it should and ought to be, I'm not sure what I'd get more satisfaction from at Wrestlemania, Daniel Bryan beating Triple H as the payoff to his current plight, or Daniel Bryan and CM Punk having a 25 minute world title match.

I think the difference between a Lesnar match with Triple H and a match with Undertaker is that Undertaker is willing to do the Passion of the Phenom thing where he gets destroyed and sells and sells and it looks like all hope is lost for the streak, only for him to hang on and eek out a win. Perfect for the layout of a Lesnar match, even if he won't be able to ragdoll him the way he did Punk. On the other hand, even against Brock Lesnar, HHH has to play The Ass Kicker who can trade bombs and is also very strong.

I'd rather see that cool Batista that left in a rage than Goldberg

I really want the main event to be Cena vs Taker

I hope Helmsley fights an Orton type, but that's just because I am greedy and don't want to see someone I enjoy sucked into his world.

If we get someone out of the Sting, Hogan, Goldberg wish list I hope it is Sting since he can still work. Although a Hardy or Bully Ray return would be better.

Building someone like Ambrose up for WrestleMania would be best.

No Rock, thank the gods.

Are we supposed to forget that the Shield injured Undertaker and put him on the shelf? I want to see the Shield involved with him at some point. If anything, Ambrose vs. Undertaker would be a fantastic match.

I have absolutely no idea where the entire "Sting has to face Undertaker at 'Mania" rhetoric comes from. A little more buildup for that would be fantastic: have Sting come in at Wrestlemania, face off against someone relatively random; and after Taker beats Ambrose (or whomever), have Sting come out, point at him, and that's the start. They stoke the fire throughout the year, with both Taker and Sting as allies eventually facing off a year later.

They had a year plus build up with Sting vs Hogan way back years ago, and it created fantastic atmosphere for their match.

Sting debuting at the Royal Rumble would kick ass.

But yeah - Undertaker vs. Ambrose. I would love to see that.

Then you must not care for Lesnar also?

If Undertaker only fights at Wrestlemania, then Cena will never fight him. Even the little kids will be finally boo the shit out of Cena if this were to happen and Vince will never allow that to happen to his golden goose. Never.

All of the Taker vs Sting stuff comes from 2011 when they did that 2-21-11 promo and everyone wasn't sure if it was Sting or Taker, and since WrestleMania was in Atlanta that year with a Hall of Fame ceremony the night before, the Internet assumed it was Sting coming back for the big match on his home turf and WWE HOF induction.

Since that basically made the Internet explode for a month or two in 2011, every year, people keep hyping up a Taker-Sting match for WrestleMania in their head because they're nostalgic for that one time two years ago when they thought it would really, really happen. Of course, the context is COMPLETELY different now and 2011 was the only time it made any sense to do the match like that, but people often forget that sort of thing because the idea of Taker-Sting in 2011 still makes people excited.

Taker-Ambrose is already set up so well, but then again, Taker-Lesnar also has a bit of set up, too, from when Taker appeared at a UFC event in 2010. I could take either and I think if Taker wants to put over someone who could be the future of WWE, Ambrose is a good dark horse candidate with all of the talent and tools to make it.

Taker-Cena is the one I want to see, though.

There's still plenty of time to make Taker a bad guy again. That's all you need to keep the young kids behind Cena.

Yeah right, who's going to buy an Undertaker heel turn at this stage of his career? The 90% smark Wrestlemania crowd will still be booing Cena out of the building if he ever faces Taker, WWE should just embrace it.

90% of the WM crowd is going to be booing Cena no matter who he's facing (along with reacting towards plenty of other people in ways WWE may not want.) WWE's not booking to get a favorable reaction from that crowd, they're booking to get a favorable reaction from those who only buy PPVs once a year. The Streak vs John Cena is a very easy match to sell to the crowd.

If WWE was concerned John Cena would be irrevocably damaged by facing a fellow fan favorite at WrestleMania, he would not have faced The Rock the last two years.

I am sticking with that. Ambrose will lose the US title even though The Shield interfere. Then Rollins will win in without The Shields help. Setting up Face US Champ Rollins vs Ambrose.

I would much rather see Sting point the bat at HBK during one of these HBK apprehension nights. Leave Taker for someone else.

The Gay Darren Young is now 2-0. Only way Goldberg comes back is if The Gay Darren Young is 99-0 going into Wrestlemania.

I can confirm the the fans will be against him. I have never heard a person get booed that loud and I have been at playoff NHL games against hated rivals to the point, fights were breaking out in the stands. They might as well use Cena getting booed to their advantage for once.

If they are certain about Daniel being their guy then they shouldn't worry about Cena getting booed anymore. I hate the Ambrose idea. The Streak needs a little bit more sizzle then one of the guys in the middle of the Shield beatdown.

Yeah, I can buy that. Taker/Lesnar would likely be a good match. I just think (my taste! me! dammit) it wouldn't be the best match - that a rehash of HHH/Taker from WM27 would be a lame use of Lesnar's freakish physical ability when Punk, Bryan, Ziggler and Sheamus are right there. What does Brock add to the streak match? Ass Kicker Gravitas (for the buys) and jiu-jitsu (for the art), I guess - because Brock has the most Ass Kicker Gravitas in WWE you can do the Passion thing more convincingly with him than with Ambrose or Cena or whoever… but only if people are watching the match in isolation, unaware of Brock's contract status and the value of the streak. How many people seriously think Brock might win? (This is not rhetorical. I really don't know!) Maybe I'm wrong to care so much about suspense, but people were complaining about WM29 being headlined by three foregone conclusion matches. I have a hard time picturing how Lesnar/Taker actually gets you more money or a better show than Cena/Taker and Punk/Lesnar.

Bryan/Punk? My first thought was that'd be very disappointing, since it would probably be billed third from the top and would be an odd payoff to the huge Bryan/Orton/HHH and Punk/Lesnar feuds. Except with Cena out, Bryan and Punk will probably get booked so strongly that it might just be your main event after all... and if it leads to a nice long face Bryan/heel Punk feud, that's not the worst thing ever. Still not my plan A.

Even the little kids will be finally boo the shit out of Cena … Vince will never allow that to happen to his golden goose.

Then they'd better keep Cena far away from Daniel Bryan...
