Interesting to note that there's going to be an extra $10 charge for the HD broadcast. I'm sure that the E should be hyping this up soon, especially since there's been speculation that 2008 will be the year that all their programming will be converted to 1080i format.
They've announced SmackDown going to HD in January, and many are taking that to be the upcoming January 4th show, but there's no confirmation of that yet. Next week's Raw is listed as HD on DirecTV's USA-HD, but so was the 15th Anniversary Show of Awesome and we all knew that was BS ahead of time.
It'll be interesting to see how the ring is framed for 16:9, especially from the hard camera.
This might actually get me to buy a PPV for the first time since WM XX if Mediacom carries the HD feed.
I would have a hard time seeing Michaels end his career on a down note. The first time he retired, not only was the injury more serious, but it came in what was, at the time, probably one of the biggest matches in company history.
