Any opinions on this other than "YEESH"? Is this really their best option?
Maybe they're trying to keep up with the latest quality programming Raw's been broadcasting.

Sucks, though. WHo cares about Hardcore Holly? Most people would prefer to see either Cena or Benoit face (and defeat) Lesnar than Hardcore freaking Holly.

Yeah, this is pretty ridiculous.

Does anyone actually give a damn about Bob Holly? Have they ever? He was "Sparky" Plugg, for god's sake! The only time he was even remotely over was when he did the superheavyweight gimmick, and that was a joke. If Vince wants to reward him for being a company guy, that's fine, but I thought the reward for perennial midcarders ws a token IC run (in this case the US Title would be appropriate), not a feud for the Heavyweight Title. That should be reserved for people who can actually draw to some degree.

I can't speak for everyone, but common sense says that the fans would rather see Benoit, Guerrero or Cena feuding with Lesnar. I applaud the move to bring someone into the title scene whose name isn't Angle or Big Show, but "Sparky" fuckin' Plugg? Rey mysterio would be more convincing, even though he's half Lesnar's size.

When's Edge coming back?

Hmm. I wonder if this rumor, combined with the aforementioned surgeries for Brock, means that we're going to have an angle where Hardcore Holly injures Brock on an upcoming Smackdown to explain the time off (no, he doesn't do that tonight; I'm not spoiling anything)? If so ... has the world champ ever been put on the shelf for storyline purposes by a lesser creature than Hardcore Holly??

Seriously, though, I can see that being the way to tell the story and make people interested. Like someone said in another thread, if Holly is portrayed as someone so crazy he's not willing to play by the rules -- and then injures Lesnar as a result -- he might just be taken at least somewhat seriously. And hopefully it would result in Brock demanding the match and just annihilating the poor sap.

I think this year might be one of the more interesting Royal Rumbles of all time, since given all of the rumours for WMXX, I genuinely have no idea who's going to win. Will there be a champ vs. champ match? Will big names like Brock or HHH be booked in some kind of 'legends' match for the big event instead of a world title bout? I think after 'settling' for Booker T last year, HHH might want a higher-profile match for the biggest WrestleMania of all time--- possibly the Rock?

Combine this with the fact that there is no face on the RAW side who I could see winning the Rumble in order to get a shot at Triple H, and it all seems to point to a Smackdown wrestler winning the Rumble to face Brock at Wrestlemania. Cena? Benoit? Angle? The only one I could guarantee it wouldn't be is Holly, so in a way it's good that WWE gets him out of the way now. But WWE should ask themselves one question: should they be giving a world title match on a major PPV to a guy that (barring a battle royale) probably won't even on the WM card at all? Hell no.

Rob asks Dave and Ric if they want to go backstage to play Hungry Hungry Hippos and Flair and Batista immediately bail. Flair wants to be Green. Man, EVERYBODY wants to be green. Except the girl in the commercials. She wanted to be pink. That either means that the ad agency was sexist or that she was communist. Of course Hungry Hungry Hippos is a rather capitalist game isnít it? No self respecting communist would play Hungry Hungry Hippos. Except Stalin. He LOVED Hungry Hungry Hippos. God, Iíve got no clue what the hell Iím rambling about anymore.-- Matt "Excalibur05" Hocking, Raw Satire writer extraordinaire

In my opinion some of the Wrestlemania XX card will be in no particular order

Triple H vs Mick Foley

Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg

Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jechico
(RAW champion)

Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle
(SD champion) (Royal Rumble winner)

Oh yeah and Undertaker and Kane will wrestle as well

You people are all correct for wondering if a Holly/Lesnar match would dissuade people from attending/buying the PPV. Unfortunately for me, I have wanted to go to a RR for so long that I am making sure that I'm there live. But trust me, if it was any other PPV, I would have stayed the Hell out of Philly for any PPV with Hardcore F'n Holly headlining.

What is No Way Out's main event- Steve Blackman vs. Angle?

Damn you WWE for making me change my sig. I'm sure you have good enough reasons to get rid of Shannon, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Let me thus be the first to say: BRING BACK DAFFNEY!

Since when is John Cena a "green load?" He got into OVW at about the same time as Brock, and came into the WWE at just about the same time (correct me if it was more than a matter of months between either set of debuts). Sure, Lesnar has been Main Eventing longer than Cena, but he certainly hasn't proven that he can carry anyone through a match. I have been watching Holly since he was in the JOB Squad, and I never thought, "Wow, that Bob Holly sure puts on a good show in the ring." I mean, he doesn't suck in the ring, but anytime I was interested in what he was doing it was because he was doing it with Al Snow or Crash and I always thought, "there's a good midcarder who earns his money respectably."

If anyone thinks Lesnar isn't infinitely more polished in the ring at this point than Cena speak now or forever hold your peace. I think John Cena is a marketable character all, but god, the guys sucks about as badly as you can in the ring at this point. His moveset actually trumps Vanilla and becomes some sort of uber-vanilla hybrid. I'm not saying Lesnar is capable of carrying anyone either. I'm just saying he'd have to try to in the case of Cena, who isn't able to perform well unless being carried. Bottom line is that I essentially don't want to see John Cena within 8 trillion miles of a wrestlemania main event I guess, but if that's what the fans want, perhaps they'll get it?

Caped Boy: Excuse me, ladies. You may remember me as the guy who came to dinner a few weeks ago with underwear on my head. My name is Keith Stat from Milbourne, New Jersey. State bird, the mosquito. And as you may have heard I am recently a crowned class B dungeon-master. So if any of you would like to play D&D today, please speak now or forever hold your peace.
[He chuckles, and there is an awkward silence at the table.]
Caped Boy: Anyone? Alexa!
[Alexa gives him a withering glare.]
Caped Boy: Maybe you would like to join in? We do need a druid, and you have definitely cast a level 5 charm spell on me.
Alexa: In your dreams, douche-bag!
Caped Boy: Douche-bags are hygienic products, I take that as a compliment. Thank you.
[Keith walks off]

If there's ever time to take solice in the fact that the WWE hasn't given the fans anything "that they want" since 1997, reading quotes like this are those times.

Doubt it. They had WWF NY right in Times Square, which was the WWE's version of the Hard Rock Cafe. It bled money and closed within 3 to 4 years. I don't think they would want a repeat of that.
