You know, that's a question I've been meaning to ask. Cena has that Subway ad and is identified as "The Champ, John Cena."

When signing ads such as this, does WWE make promises to the corporation in question as to title reigns? I mean, it would suck to film this ad and then have Cena lose before the ad even starts running. Does WWE contractually state that "if you put so-and-so in the ad, he will remain champ for X days after the first running of the ad"?

Here's something I noticed about the ad. They identify him as "The Champ, John Cena." Not "The WWE Champion." Not "The World Heavyweight Champion." And even when Cena wasn't champ, and was chasing Edge's belt, he still referred to himself as "The Champ," e.g. "The Champ is here!" implying that he felt he was the rightful champion. So one could make the argument that they're using "The Champ" as his nickname, and so he will still be "The Champ" after he no longer holds a belt.

Batista retains.
Cena retains, "overcoming the odds" yet again, even though it's expected at this point.
Either Undertaker or HBK win the Rumble. Probably the Taker. Orton's got an outside chance.
Test beats Lashley to put the belt on a heel before WM.

Jeff Hardy beats MNM after Matt is quickly punked out and most of the match goes 2-on-1. Maybe Maria or Candice show up to help Jeff, as they both have had matches against Melina, lately.

"ECW Champion Test" doesn't sound right to me. Then again, "ECW Champion Bobby Lashley" isn't much better. Usually, the Rumble is used for the current champ to get a win over a decent opponent for momentum going in to WrestleMania. See Angle/Henry and Lesnar/Holly for examples. But if Lashley retains, who do they build up to be his challenger at WrestleMania? That said, what exactly is ECW going to contribute to WrestleMania? They're being treated so poorly lately, what kind of spot are they going to be given? I'd say Lashley retains and goes in to WM with a 6-Pack-Challenge match against Test, RVD, Punk, Sabu, and Holly under Extreme Rules. That way, you get all your ECW "main eventers" in one match taking up less space on the WM card.

Both Batista and Cena retain.

The Rumble will come down to HBK and Taker. Doesn't matter who wins, cuz both of them are going in to WM with a title match. But, for the sake of the prediction, I'll say Shawn wins with more Taker/Batista build up happening at No Way Out leading in to their match at WrestleMania.

Final Four: Taker, Shawn, Edge, CM Punk

Endurance Run: CM Punk

Diesel Push: Khali - Undertaker is the one who finally eliminates him

Cena & Batista retain; Lashley loses to Test in some sneaky, heinous fashion.

'Taker wins the Rumble, eliminating Shawn last. Final Four includes Orton and RVD.

Longest lasting: Shawn.
Shortest lasting: CM Punk. Kidding! I meant The Miz.

MNM over Hardys.

From a booking sense it would make sense for Shawn to win. Logically, how would he get a title shot on Raw? It's not like Vince McMahon would okay that. It's not like he's even in contention.

Undertaker can get a title shot the way he always gets a title shot, by randomly showing up and shooting lightning at the champion.

Undertaker winning WM is like any other giant winning or Hogan winning. Seems logical. It'd be anti-climactic.

So, yeah Shawn to win. Test to win the belt and Batista and Cena to retain.

Wow. I didn't realize that everyone has this idea that 'Taker is going to win. The only bit of history that WWE keeps is that he doesn't win at the Rumble and is undefeated at 'Mania. That being said, 'Taker will probably suffer some beatdown from Khali similar to the 1993 Rumble when Giant Gonzales beat him up and forced him out of the match. My predictions:

Lashley beats Test
Batista beats Kennedy (Kennedy carries Batista, of course)
Cena outlasts Umaga (too much "drama" with a ruptured spleen makes this one kinda obvious)
MNM beats Hardyz (gotta get the equalizer from Armageddon)

Royal Rumble Winner: Orton

Final 4: Orton, HBK, Edge, Flair

I picture it going down like this. HBK eliminates someone (RVD?), turns around and eats a spear or an RKO, leaving him out of the match for the time being. Rated RKO beats the crap out of Flair and dumps him out. Now its Rated RKO and HBK. HBK gets beat down until Orton and Edge start arguing over who's going to eliminate HBK. Orton, still smarting over the conchairto, catches Edge unaware and eliminates him and we are now down to 2. RKO and HBK are battling it out. HBK tosses RKO after some chin music, RKO does not hit the floor and while HBK celebrates, RKO gets back in and chucks him out. RKO is your winner!

Yeah, I know, replays of 2002 and kind of 1995. Eh, sounds like it could be fun...

Now THAT is a ME and Wrestlemania I would be interested in. I think BEnoit could pull an AWESOME match out of Umaga!

But, that will never happen. Cena or HBK will have the title or fight for it at Wrestlemania.

MNM d. Hardy Boyz. Well, why not?

Test d. Bobby Lashley. As scary as it sounds, it seems to me like they're teasing a future Test v. Holly main-event feud, so I'll go with Test here. God help us.

John Cena d. Umaga, because I doubt Umaga is going into 'Mania as WWE Champion.

Batista d. Mr. Kennedy, again, because Kennedy ain't about to main-event 'Mania this year.

Undertaker wins the Royal Rumble. Going back and forth on this one, but since Undertaker v. Batista seems to be the most likely match at 'Mania at this point, I'll go with 'Taker.

Oh, and since I'm having an extremely boring day, here's my Rumble match booking:

Shawn Michaels is #1. Randy Orton is #2. They go at it. The Miz is #3, but is eliminated quickly by Michaels. Kenny Dykstra is #4. Hardcore Holly is #5, and the heels gang up on Michaels. Ric Flair is #6 to help Michaels. Matt Hardy is #7. MVP is #8. Tommy Dreamer enters at #9. Shelton Benjamin is #10, as the ring fills up. Orton eliminates Dreamer. Kevin Thorn enters at #11. Michaels fires up, eliminating MVP, Thorn, and Benjamin respectively. Holly eliminates Hardy, but walks into an HBK superkick and Holly is gone. Chris Masters enters at #12, and is quickly eliminated by Michaels. Dykstra eliminates Flair, but then is immediatley thrown out by Michaels. This leaves Michaels and Orton alone in the ring. Super Crazy is #13, and works over both guys, until Orton eliminates him. Orton and Michaels again go at it, but Michaels gets the upper-hand and eliminates Orton. Michaels is alone in the ring. Great Khali enters at #14. Michaels gives a valiant effort, but is eliminated by Khali. Khali is left alone in the ring. Viscera is #15, but Khali gets the upper-hand and eliminates him. Kane enters at #16, and they go at it. Khali again gets the upper-hand and eliminates Kane. Undertaker enters at #17, and goes toe-to-toe with Khali. Undertaker this time gets the upper-hand, and clotheslines Khali out of the match. Undertaker is alone in the ring. King Booker is #18. Undertaker almost has Booker out, but Finlay enters at #19 and helps Booker. Jeff Hardy is #20. CM Punk is #21. Johnny Nitro is #22, and he and Hardy go at it. Sabu is #23. Chris Benoit is #24. Chavo Guerrero is #25, and he and Benoit go at it, as the ring fills back up. Edge enters at #26. Benoit eliminates Chavo. Gregory Helms enters at #27. Rob Van Dam is #28. Edge eliminates Punk. Carlito enters at #29. Nitro eliminates Jeff Hardy, but then Carlito eliminates Nitro. Sandman is the last man in, entering at #30. Benoit eliminates Helms. Edge eliminates Sandman. Edge eliminates Carlito. RVD eliminates Sabu. Undertaker eliminates Finlay. Booker eliminates Benoit.

Final Four: Undertaker, Rob Van Dam, King Booker, & Edge

The four pair off. Booker eliminates RVD. Booker & Edge gang up on Undertaker. The heels get the upper-hand. However, Edge turns on Booker and eliminates him. We're down to Edge & Undertaker. Edge teases victory several times, but Undertaker keeps coming back. Undertaker eventually eliminates Edge to win the match.

I'm wondering...has Batista ever fought Shawn Michaels? If Michaels won the Rumble, I would love to see that match go down.

I hope I do better than the last time.

1) Lashley/Test (ECW World Title Match) -> Lashley by pin w/the Dominator.

2) MNM/Hardys (Revenge Interpromotional tag team match) -> MNM by pin w/Snapshot on Jeff to get win.

3) Cena/Umaga (WWE Title - Last Man Standing Rematch) -> Cena w/FU, but is winded by this point, both will be down, and the count goes to 9, and Cena staggers up to get the win, keeping his title.

4) Batista/Mr. Kennedy (WORLD Heavyweight Championship Match) -> Batista by pin with Batista Bomb, then all the pomp and circumstances/fun and games mindgames set up by the Undertaker starts up either at RR or the next Smackdown.

5) The Royal Rumble Match itself with the Cast of Idiots, um, I mean the Raw Superstars, Smackdown Superstars, and ECW Extremists -> Looking at the list of wrestlers involved, I'm going to break this down in a few categories.

A) First two in: Masters and Carlito
B) Going for the long ride: HBK (in at 4)
C) Diesel Push: Great Khali, which would be stopped by Kane/Undertaker
D) Bushwhacker Luke or Butch Award (shortest time in the ring): The Miz
E) Last in at #30: RVD
F) Last four: Benoit/HBK/Orton/Edge
G) Win and How: Edge and HBK by ropes, and Orton pushes both out of the ring and onto the floor.

Royal Rumble Champion: Orton

It's been mentioned here, but I never paid attention till now. Cody Rhodes' lack of kneepads is totally disturbing to me! It just looks sooo weird and I can barely watch the match. Who was the last guy to wrestle without them? Andre? Snuka?
