Royal Rumble Match: This is tough. Strowman? Undertaker? Samoa Joe? Nakamura? Roman Reigns? Lesnar? Goldberg? There doesn't seem to be a favorite this year. I'll go Undertaker, though I may change my mind a dozen times between now and Sunday.
Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns, No-Disqualification Match for the Universal Championship; Chris Jericho will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage: Will Reigns have something bigger than a title match set up for Mania? I'll say Owens wins here. Owens vs. Taker wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
A.J. Styles vs. John Cena, WWE Championship Match: To keep in mind: Smackdown has the Elimination Chamber in February prior to Wrestlemania. Cena wins by DQ, but Styles loses the title in the Chamber so at Mania he can face...Shane McMahon?
Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley, Raw Women's Championship Match: Bayley will eventually end Flair's PPV unbeaten streak, but not here.
Reigns. This has HHH screwed Rollins out of the rumble ill screw his boy out of the title. But that might make Roman look weak. Cena. AJ reason to fight Shane is his only rematch is in the chamber and not 1v1. Charlotte. Neville. Team Lynch. Nia. The Club by DQ even though there's two refs.
The Rumble is really hard this year. Surprise entrants Wolfgang, Kota Ibushi, and The Great Khaki. Winner Braun. Though I want to say Owens wins after he steals Jerichos spot. That's a better reason for Jericho/Owens at mania. Ha, I just though that Reigns/Rollins steals the only key to the cage and Jerico has to stay in the cage the whole Rumble match.
Couple of Notes: 1. Becky/Nikki/Naomi vs. Alexa/Mickie/Natalya added to the show 2. There are still only 22 people officially in the Rumble. I could see American Alpha, Apollo Crews and Kallisto being thrown in there (since they weren't in the Smackdown losers Battle Royal) but that would still leave 4 spots for whoever else.
My predictions Gallows and Anderson finally win the titles Nia over Sasha unfortunately Heel Smackdown women Neville over Swann Flair over Bayley Styles over Cena Owens retains. Since it's no DQ Jericho somehow helps him win. Either he somehow gets down from the cage or he drops a weapon down or something. Rumble Winner - Samoa Joe Surprise Entrants - Joe, Triple H, I like ranger's idea of Ibushi and what the hell, let's say Roode. I know he hasn't done the whole won the NXT title and then lose it yet, but he's 40 and he's about as good as he's going to get. Plus, his entrance at the Royal Rumble? Yes, please.
Royal Rumble: I'm going with Kurt Angle. There are multiple reasons I can think of not to do it, which is my primary reason for thinking the WWE might go with it.(Bonus Prediction: Someone who didn't make it into the Rumble follows the time honored tradition of kicking someone's ass and taking their spot. This year the target will be Mojo Rawley.)
Kevin Owens vs Roman ReignsOwens wins clean, prompting him to get cocky and point out he doesn't need Jericho to retain his title. Jericho makes the same claim and then loses the US Title, prompting Owens to mock him, leading to Owens vs Jericho at Wrestlemania.
AJ Styles vs John Cena I'm torn on this. If Angle were to win the Rumble, he has history with both of these guys. (I assume Angle would go for the Smackdown title because his neck should never be in the same ring as Kevin Owens and Angle vs Reigns would just be horrible from a reaction standpoint.) Angle is on the record as declaring AJ Styles the greatest wrestler he's ever faced. I think Styles pulls it off here and they stretch out Cena's record-tying chase a bit longer.
Charlotte vs Bayley I think Charlotte wins here via chicanery, eventually leading to a triple threat once again at Wrestlemania.
Rich Swann vs NevilleNeville And how fucked up is it that the WWE is wasting the cruiserweights so badly that their match is one of the top contenders for a bathroom break?
Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, and Naomi vs Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, and NatalyaTeam Becky, leading to Becky taking the title from Bliss at Elimination Chamber and then facing Mickie at Wrestlemania.
Cesaro & Sheamus vs Gallows & AndersonGallows and Anderson because what else is there for them to do at this point?
Sheamus/Cesaro Mickie's team Nia Jax Neville Charlotte Reigns Cena Undertaker wins the Rumble (surprise entries: Samoa Joe, Bob Backlund, Barry Darsow in Demolition Smash gear who is instantly tossed out by a New Day member)
George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.
Cesaro/Sheamus (Sheamaro!), because Gallows is terrible Team Bliss I think it's a bad idea to keep hotshotting the Cruiserweight title, but I also think that's exactly what they'll do, so I'll take Neville After that monster heel promo by Cena on Tuesday, I've got to go with AJ I actually go with Bayley here, but not in a way that wins the title. DQ or Countout, breaking the PPV streak and giving Charlotte a reason to duck the rematch. Owens, by hook or by crook And for the Rumble, I'm going to go with secret entrant Finn Balor. If he's healthy, he's the guy.
1) Royal Rumble Match - I could see several different scenarios. But I will go with a surprise. I will go with Ziggler. (other notes on this match after the rest of the predictions)
2) Styles/Cena (WWE Championship Match) - Styles with a rollup with tights pin.
3) Owens/Reigns (WWE Universal Championship Match - Jericho in a shark cage over the ring - No DQ) - Reigns wins title after intercepting brass knucks, who Jericho was trying to throw to Owens, then the spear.
4) Charlotte/Bayley (WWE Women's Championship Match) - Charlotte with the Natural Selection to retain.
5) Swann/Neville (WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match) - Neville wins with the Torture Device to win title.
6) Becky/Naomi/Nikki vs Mickie/Natalya/Alexa (6 woman tag team match) - Mickie wins for her team with the Mick Kick on Becky.
Preshow matches A) Cesaro/Sheamus vs Gallows/Anderson (WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match - 2 Referees assigned) - Sheamus with the Brogue Kick on Anderson to retain.
B) Sasha/Nia Jax - Sasha with the Bank Statement.
Notes: - I went with Ziggler to win due to the hot heel treatment he has been getting. I thought about Strowman, but he will still get his chance against Reigns at WrestleMania.
- Styles will retain here, but will lose to Cena in the Elimination Chamber.
Royal Rumble Side Predictions: - Strowman gets the most eliminations. - Lesnar and Goldberg will eliminate each other, paving the road to WrestleMania re-match. - Unannounced non-main roster surprises will be the following: Nakamura, Samoa Joe, Dillinger, Bobby Roode (in which Graves rockets to the top of the dome [figuratively], and Tatanka...just to get a legend in the ring. - Returns: Balor from injury, and Kane...just MIA the last couple of weeks. - #1 will be Balor - #2 will be Nakamura - #30 will be Undertaker - Undertaker will be eliminated by Strowman - What will Kofi do to keep from being eliminated? Lands on Big E and gets picked up around the ring. - Longest time in the ring: Samoa Joe - Shortest time in the ring: Xavier Woods - Last four in: Ziggler, Strowman, Joe, and Ambrose - Last two in: Ziggler and Ambrose
How many mystery spots are still open? 8? This has me thinking they are negotiating with people and if it falls through they'll just throw the Alphas or someone else on roster in. Who could be the biggest surprise entrant out there? Omega, HBK, Balor, Angle, HHH, The Rock, Broken Matt Hardy? All the Lucha Underground lock in contracts? TNA/ROH/NJPW?
I think two "mystery spots" are going to NXT callups, going with Joe and Dillinger, two are going to be goofy legends, Gilberg being one of them. Two 205 Live guys, most likely Cedric Alexander and Gallagher. Two are going to be injury returns, Finn and, uh, that other guy that's been out since summer.
"Laugh and the world laughs with you. Frown and the world laughs at you." -Me.
Royal Rumble Match: Toughest Rumble to predict in a while. I'm going to say Finn.
Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns, No-Disqualification Match for the Universal Championship: Jericho finds a way around the shark cage and somehow helps Kevin cheat to win.
A.J. Styles vs. John Cena, WWE Championship Match: Cena by shenanigans. Club will be in the building.
Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley, Raw Women's Championship Match: Charlotte by shenanigans, but Bayley wins in the future.
Rich Swann vs. Neville, Cruiserweight Championship Match: Swann, gets beat down after.
Becky Lynch & Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Mickie James & Natalya & Alexa Bliss: The baddies.
Sasha vs Nia: Sasha eeks it out, gets beat down after.
Sheamus/Cesaro vs Club: Sheamus and Cesaro have miscommunication and lose, brawl in the Rumble after.
Mystery Rumble spots: Tye at 10, Joe, Gillberg in the spot before Goldberg so he gets destroyed by Brock, Tyler Bate, the every few Rumbles RVD appearance, and let's say they round it out with Gallagher, Alexander, and Dar.
Not a bad Smackdown! overall, though it wasn't as impressive as RAW this week (or so I heard). -Swagger/Rollins was about as good as you can expect from a match with Swagger. Zeb is still selling Rusev's kick to the face it seems.
