These are the WBF, IBA and WBC (I think) and could be likened to the IC/US title. There are also smaller organizations such as the USBA and NABF in America (and presumably others in other countries) that could be likened to the European/TV title.
In other words, Boxing titles are even more convoluted than the WWE's titles but at least boxing has the excuse of multiple organizations offering championships and a boxer not actually competing for an individual organization. The WWE intentionally convuluted their titles for no apparent reason.

Okay, let's say...BROCK LESNAR is the WWE Champion (still) heading into January, and TRIPLE H is the World Champion. KURT ANGLE wins the Royal Rumble, and as a SmackDown guy, is warrented the right as a SmackDown! competitor to a shot at the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. So, he accepts that shot. Then, Angle does a face-turn and turns on (apparantly now) Heel Stephanie. Stephanie, in a fit of pique, trades Angle to the RAW brand for, say, Chris Jericho...or Rob Van Dam. It doesn't matter. Stephanie sez that since Angle's no longer a SmackDown guy, no more title shot. Right? WRONG! Because of a LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT, Angle STILL gets his title shot. He feuds with Triple H over the trade (and their past stuff), leading to Angle winning the World Championship at No Way Out. THEN, Angle beats Lesnar at WrestleMania, reunifying the titles and giving us a TRUE AMERICAN HERO as UNDISPUTED CHAMPION!
Hell, that's what I wanna see. Then he defends against Benoit and Jericho for months and the REAL FUN begins.

I like your style of thinking Freeway, but your forgot the Angle vs Lesnar rematch, followed by Lesnar going crazy and start snapping people like a twig.
Then when Angle goes heel again, have Lesnar turn face then BOOM, another feud, this one the classic "you've beaten everyone but me" train of thought.

I was just going to point that out. It's been on my mind since we discussed it a couple of weeks ago.
I (seriously, no joke) believe Austin will return and win it., going on to win the title at WM19.
But Which Title?!?!?! WHICH TITLE?!!?!?!

With poison running through your veins, and death marching solemnly towards you, heroic acts become more of a necessity as you see your time dwindling.
Vanquishing your enemies, making amends to those you have wronged, and leaving words of love and kindness for those around you become second nature as your own mortality looms
However, true strength lies not in these last desperate acts, but in the actions of one who has to get out of bed the next day and face the consequences of doing that which you believe is right.
I hate to say it but I think we're all getting our hopes up for nothing. I have an ominous feeling the Rumble winner will just "earn" the right to be declared a "free agent" and nothing more. That way at No Way Out they can have 2 title matches and 2 Number One Contender matches and claim they have 4 main events. I really hope I'm wrong as I love the idea of the Angle trade/unification storyline.
The best there IS, the best there WAS, and the BEST there EVER will be!

Switch the WBC and the WBO and you've got it dead on.
