according to the Ross Report "HBK will be at WWF AXXES, and as for WM18, let the rumors begin."

My guess is he may be a special guest Ref for the HHH/Jericho match.

Thoughts?

If he refs the title match, let's just hope he doesn't wear those damn shorts he wore to ref the Ironman match at Judgment Day 2000. Yikes.

Has he performed in Canada since the Montreal incident? Maybe he could count the three for Jericho as an "apology" to the Canadian fans.

If HBK does come back it would have to be a nwo run in or else; just kidding. But I think if he ran in and cost HHH the titles that would kickstart a kickass kliq feud.

I wish Jim Ross would quit saying stuff like that. Why can't HBK making a WM appearance be left as a surprise? Why does he always have to let the cat out of the bag when things like this are supposedly going to happen. But knowing Ross, he probably phrased it so cryptically that if HBK doesn't appear he can say that he never really said he would be there. Jim Ross is an ass, I hope customs won't let him across the border.

Shit, if Ross or the WWF didn't hint at HBK playing a part at damn near every major wrestling event in the last 3 years, this might mean something.

Sometimes it's just better to think that nothing can go right. At least that way the only surprises are good ones.

After that Smackdown rating, I am surprised he didn't hint at Trish being fully naked at WM.

Of course you did know that Smackdown wasn't available in over 20% of it's normal market, right?

That's a big chunk, ratings wise (plus the ratings overperformed in the big range markets)

...I know too much about this stuff. *sigh*

That's simply not true. Setting aside the fact that no one's definitely proven to me either way that pre-emptions are (or aren't) taken into account in the final Nielsen numbers, the "normal" penetration for UPN is only something like 84-86% of the nation.

This is me scoffing at you for sighing. *pffft*

Well...The Torch says 7%, so I guess I'll go with them. Still, 7% is a pretty big market gap to be missing from the ratings.

You're right though, Chris, I think I was getting my signals mixed up (Smackdown isn't usally available at all in around 20% of all markets and this week it wasn't available in 7% of markets it usually is).

I stand by my sigh though...I DO know too much about this stuff.

Err...please read what JR says.
He WILL be at Axxess..that's it! nothing else!
WHat he means with the 2nd part imo is this:
If he is at axxess that means he is in TO. which will get people go nuts about him being part of wrestlemania. so start your damned rumors. i ain't telling that he will not be a part of it.

It's the same as Smackdown in San Antonio. JR said HBK would be there and he was..backstage..
You just did exactly what he said 'let the rumors begin'. You should know by now that Ross gets off on this stuff.. This and providing commentary to an Austin segment.

But the rating only takes into account the markets who actually have a chance to see the show. Isn't that right? So if 7% or 20% of the audience was pre-empted, it wouldn't matter because it only takes into account the audience that was able to see the show.
