Must have been a slow news day-- even though John McCain wrapped up the Republican nomination like, three months ago, Ron Paul has just now officially announced that he is dropping out of contention for the honor, and will focus his time on his new organization, which will be responsible for recruiting new Republicans.

Notably, Paul is not endorsing McCain; he's pointed out that he disagrees with him on several issues.

"It, uh... it was not supposed to be a fight to the death."
"Trust me, they're better off now."
"Yeah, you're probably right."
