Four early highlights from the stRangers' season...
1.) A-Rod as the ESPN "Sunday Conversation" talking about how great Carl Everett and John Rocker really are as people and how they've got everyone fooled.
2.) Hearing Peter Gammons on "Baseball Tonight" mention how in the 13 games the stRangers had played there were seven (SEVEN!) games that they had led in the fifth inning or later that they had lost.
3.) Every Carlos Pena homer for Oakland. Trade a promising young prospect to a division rival and get basically nothing back. Yeah, the Yankees would sure do something like that.
4.) Me, sitting on my couch Tuesday night, watching the ESPNNEWS Bottomline and seeing that the stRangers had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the 10th and saying, out loud, "Well, they're ahead so that means they'll have to lose it in the 10th," then instantly getting to the highlights of Erstad's double to make it 6-5, Angels, with all the witty anti-stRangers commentary the situation truly called for from the ESPNNEWS anchor. I think it was Bill Pidto.

who wants to play with the racist anyway? he's a marked man anywhere he goes...
if i were in the majors and came to my team, he'd better keep clear from me, or he'd get coldcocked...
only if i played in the majors, that is ^_^
I think most of America has gotten over the comments he said and as for his pitching if he does not get out of the minors this year his career is done. I do not really think he was that good of a pitcher even when he was at Atlanta.
In the last few days, fans have narrowly avoided chunks of concrete that have fallen loose and plummeted into the seating areas during games at Wrigley. The city is ordering a full inspection of the place. I of course say get the wrecking ball.
