How do they know Hogan will do the run-in?

The whole idea makes sense to me. The big money match is of course Austin/Hogan, as they are the two biggest stars in wrestling in the past 20 years. They can't blow that wad at this Wrestlemania though, so they feed Rock (who almost made it to the level Hogan and Austin reached) to Hogan to give him a solid victory coming in.
Then they can give proper buildup to the Hogan/Austin match, saving it for Summer Slam, or even next year's Wrestlemania.

| #6 Posted on 16.2.02 0704.02 | That doesn't matter though, as it still goes down as a "W" in the record books for the Rock.
Otherwise, Benoit would be a former WWF champion.

Good point S.S.S.,
It took Susan Lucci 19 times to win a EMMY,
It took Dale EarnHardt 20 times to win Daytona 500,
The chinx on the Rock will likely continue at WM.

| #8 Posted on 16.2.02 1436.44 | If it is, I hope it isn't the main event, or at least not the only main event. I'm not paying $35-$40 to watch Hogan's decrepit ass in a main event. This matchup might have been interesting even two years ago, but now...
For all you TNM freaks, it looks like some of Oliver Copp's WWF circuit matches are coming true...he had a big feud between Hogan and The Rock on a lot of his cards.

| #9 Posted on 17.2.02 0211.12 | As for not blowing Austin - Hogan now... I don't think they can afford to wait another year for that match to happen. I don't think Hogan can possibly last that long. Isn't he 50 yet?
I may have to eat those words, but if it happens I'll have stopped watching wrestling anyway... | ekedolphin

If he does lose, it won't be cleanly, because Therock never jobs cleanly to anyone not named Steve Austin.
But at the same time, I don't think that they'll job Hogan in his very first WWF PPV match since KotR '93.
Sooo, my official prediction if this match takes place (and indications are that it will) is that Hulk Hogan will win, thanks in some part to nWo interference.
As long as Scott Hall gets to hit Therock with The Outsiders' Edge, all is right with the world.
