So it looks like the Rocks latest run as a heel didn't last very long. Sure, the fans were cheering him because he made a rare guest appearance, but if he comes back and wrestles for an extended period of time, the fans will start booing him all over again (probably within 2 months) just like they were doing before his heel turn.

Hmmmmmmmmmm........maybe they made him a face again because they recently found out that he will not be wrestling full time for quite a long long long long while.

I no sell your rampant speculation. It seems to me that 1)they knew the fans would cheer him anyway, and 2) it would have been dumb for him to act heelish, as he's just going to get cheers when he really comes back in a couple months. Assuming this appearance was a one-week thing, that is.

NOTE: The above post makes no sense. We apologize for the inconvenience.

to me almost that entire segment seemed unscripted (except for jericho and booker coming out). the weirdest part was when the rock got bum-rushed in the crowd. and his reaction to the 'rocky sucks' chant was classic. i think that everyone on the net seems to love 'heel rock' a lot better than 'face rock' mainly because they're thinking back on his corporation days. recently though, i don't think the rock cuts it as a heel on his own. currently the only difference between the heel and face rock is that the heel insults the fans and not his opponent. whereas the corporation rock defended and represented something a lot more dastardly. and on another note i think he needs his old entrance back. his new one is really blah.

(maybe this belongs in the 'raw thoughts') but surprisingly my mark friends cheered when jericho, booker, and the hurricane came out tonight. and i thought to myself, maybe things aren't *that* bad.

..and then the main event happened. nevermind.

it says so right here in the wcw handbook!

Rock coming back and putting down Christian was the stupidest thing ever.

What a complete disregard to continuity. When Rock was a heel he was encouraging Christian and supposedly speaking to him via Christian's Cell Phone.

He comes back and all of a sudden he dislikes Christian?

I know continuity hasn't mattered much in the WWE, but come on, this was so recent. How stupid do they think we are?

They could have picked any other heel on the roster. Why Christian?

There was the small matter of Christian badmouthing Rock and telling him he had replaced him or whatever

I always thought the angle was that Christian was pretending to talk to Rock on the phone.

It's in The Rock's best interest to leave as a face, so he can be media friendly during the promotional work for his movie. If he had of remaind a heel it wouldn't have been as good for his movie career.

Since the kayfabe line has been shattered, does this really matter anymore? I mean, IT'S SCRIPTED!!! It's not as if people are going to say "Hey, he badmouthed the fans, let's not see his movie!!!!!!"

I'm sorry, but every time I see this line of reasoning, I just can't believe it's legitimate.

Didn't they turn Kurt Angle heel right about the time his book was about to come out ? I was kinda surprised when they did that. I'm not sure if that would effect book sales at all, but if I was Kurt, I would of been kinda peeved that they couldn't hold off on the heel turn for at least a month after his book release.

Bryan Alvarez says that after Angle turned heel, the sales of his book went way down.
