I took the kids to see this on the IMAX bigscreen this weekend, and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
While Robin Williams has certainly done better animated work, this was still just a lot of fun.
Perhaps I am too-jaded-now, but an awful lot of this flick suggested the animation was being done for a video game first, and then they forced a story into it.
Nevertheless, the characters worked, some of the jokes were pretty clever, most of the animation was thrilling on the big screen, and this film will easily become a DVD to add to the family collection.
I saw it to review for our school newspaper....I thought the animation was as good as I've ever seen, but the story was lacking and I thought the characters were a bit one-dimensional. Of course, kids don't really care about those things.
I was surprised that there weren't many laugh-out-loud moments, especially considering Robin Williams was in the cast.
EDIT: AWArulz nailed the one time I remember laughing out loud...Williams' character dancing like Britney Spears.

"Robots" had lots of cute and clever moments, but very few really funny moments. Williams hasn't been "laugh out loud" for years and many of his antics came across as desperate attempts at humor.
Still the crazy gadgets and positive but hackneyed storyline made it a pleasant experience, though nothing close to "Toy Story", "Monsters Inc" or "The Incredibles."
I still do not understand the fascination with Constantine...am I missing something?? They gotta do something with Paula...she's just gone...at least get her a tube steak, so she can quit trying to dry hump the desk everytime one of the men perform.
