Lloyd Carr is a worthless, useless nobody. He is John Cooper. He doesn't deserve to hold a position of any kind of authority within football. He needs to be gone, his assistants wiped away, and his stench washed clean before the damage done to Michigan can be repaired. I just...I have no words. Just a dull pain in my chest that is only going to grow until the end of Lloyd Carr's hatchet job at my beloved program. I know he has defenders out there, all saying in unison "Lots of programs would kill to have Lloyd Carr as coach!" Good, they can have him. Enjoy never beating your rival, never winning a bowl game, and the guaranteed 2-5 losses a season.

Nice to see Georgia on a roll ever since the Florida game. Now if only Tennessee would oblige with a loss, we'd have a competitive SEC championship. Because, quite frankly, I believe Tennessee would get smoked in that game.

Miami, Miami, what happened? They're called points. You score them to win the game.

Damn you Vandy. If you hold on to a 24-9 lead, it would have knocked Tennessee out of the SEC Title Game and we could have a very competitive LSU vs. Georgia game. Does going to an SEC championship game save Fulmer's job?
Now, I know beating up Charlie Weis is in vogue this season, and most of it is deserved. But, where is the heat on Saint Nicholas Saban? Alabama loses in Tuscaloosa to Lousiana-Monroe. Not Louisiana State, Louisiana Monroe. Coaches at Alabama have been put on the hot seat for not covering the spread in the 1st quarter against a team like Lousiana-Monroe, let alone losing the game outright. Where is the outrage that Saban is overpaid and that his team has quit on him since blowing a 4th quarter lead against LSU.
Did Michigan steal the playbook Notre Dame has been using this year, because that was one of the worst offensive performances I've seen.
Glad I didn't have the opportunity to bet against Kansas on the money line.

I'll just say this about Michigan. Carr is not a bad coach. but he's not a great one either. And a program like Michigan deserves a great one. Watching them struggle now reminds me of the slow decline of once great Nebraska and I don't want to see another major program slip into that kind of obscurity. Get Miles and if you can't get him, get Bowden.

Sure KU and Missouri set up the big game with wins today, but now OU is doing it's part to lose points for the eventual Big 12 champ by getting absolutely dominated in every way by Texas Tech, and it's only the second quarter.

It doesn't look like OU has any chance to win this game so we have to ask...what happens if OU or Texas wins the Big 12 over the Kansas/Missouri winner? In other words, who gets the shot a the national title game, cause it won't be either of those two(OU or Texas).

Meanwhile FSU gets a nice win. It was odd to watch, as the top three RB's were hurt last week so they lined up their best WR Preston Parker back there all day and he ran for over 100. Ok, whatever it takes man.

Bowden?? Tommy, Terry, Jeff...Bobby?! Hopefully not any of the kids, especially Tommy. He strikes me as a lesser Lloyd Carr - he doesn't even have the paper-prize of conference championships that Lloyd does. And if you mean Bobby...well, aside from his age, if we're honestly going with wish picks, give me Steve Spurrier. If Michigan had Spurrier as a coach, the Big 10 would suddenly become a more energetic conference in response to a more dominant, passionate Michigan team. But right now, I'm looking at Miles (he gets knocks on his recruiting, but if he gets the national championship this year that plus Michigan's history will be enough) or Brian Kelley of Cincinnati as the realistic options.

Don't start with "losing points for the Big 12 champ". How about the Pac 10? Or the ACC, with the free-falling BC and the roller coaster Florida State? Every conference is like that this year. And right now, Kansas is still the only team to weather the storm; every other BCS-conference team has lost at least one, mostly two, games. Especially in their conference: Oregon with Cal & Arizona, LSU with fraud Kentucky, Ohio State with fraud Illinois. "Weak" schedule or not, Kansas has stayed their course, done their job, and been consistent in doing so throughout.

I'm not talking about Kansas so much as the other Big 12 contenders. If OU loses, then either OU or Texas loses to Missouri in the title game, it hurts Missouri's chances a bit. Gives the other one loss teams a chance. Whereas is OU didn't lose, Missouri would have it locked up with the Big 12 title.

I meant Terry Bowden. He's actively looking and he did pretty well at Auburn until that last partial season. At least he has an undefeated season on his resume. Wouldn't be a bad choice I think.

No more than we've forgotten Tennessee's asswhipping by Cal, Florida and Alabama.

The big question is, who gets to be number two for a week: Kansas or Missouri? I give the edge to whoever is ranked third. :)

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

In all likelihood, Kansas will be #2 when the BCS comes out tomorrow night. There's no reason to rank Missouri ahead of them. I still like the Jayhawks next week though, despite the apparent "curse" of #2 this year.

Oklahoma's loss muddles things a lot, as the only sure thing now for the Big 12 and the title game would be the North winning the Big 12 championship (with the winner of Kansas/Missouri defeating either Texas or, more likely still, Oklahoma). Were Oklahoma to knock off Kansas/Missouri, I think the BCS would look further down the current list, meaning teams like West Virginia and Ohio State would have a shot. LSU losing at this point would really throw things into chaos.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

"It's irritating. I'd rather lose to Appalachian State than Ohio State."
-Mike Hart, 0-4

It's good when you talk trash and then back it up on the field. OH WAIT. He was noticeably quiet after the game, too.

This is what I need to happen (and it's not entirely unlikely):

-Oklahoma beats winner of KU/UM in Big 12 Championship
-Georgia/Tennessee beats LSU in SEC Championship.

That would put Ohio State in a good shot of climbing back into the title picture, along with a potential one-loss Arizona State and West Virginia.

Don't you f'n dare. Mike Hart is a true soldier, a real Heisman candidate if he had the coach to train him up. I know of NFL scouts that are salivating over Henne, yet hope he hasn't been destroyed thanks to the lack of coaching he's gotten at the collegiate level. Mike Hart is a leader, a hardcore running back, and a true football player in every sense of the word. It is not his fault that an untimely ankle injury hit him. It is not his fault that an incompetent coach failed him.

I almost forgot why Clemson is the Michigan State of the ACC. Almost. I hope Boston College now beats Miami before losing in the ACC Title Game so they can get a Gator Bowl berth. That way, they would play either Connecticut or Cincy and it would could continue their streak of playing in the Who Gives a Flying Fuck Bowl. If they were to lose to Miami and the ACC Title Game, they probably would end up in whatever the Peach Bowl is called this year against Auburn or Tennessee, and that would be a game that would have interest.
The way this season has gone, as long as the quarterback is healthy, I'll love Oklahoma in the Big XII Title Game against whoever survives Kansas/Missouri. The winner of Kansas/Missouri getting through the Big XII Title Game would just be a way for things to make sense, and that hasn't held true most of the year.
The interesting little game is going to be how the voters manipulate Ohio State/West Virginia. If it is close in the computers, I can see the voters doing a late shift to put Ohio State in the title game over West Virginia. The team that might want to send a gift to Texas Tech is Illinois, as their victory over Oklahoma might have opened a window for Illinois to play in the Rose Bowl.

Well, no more blaming Carr for your troubles next year, Big Blue.

(Then again, I guess you could take the Notre Dame route and blame your ex-coach for everything and your current golden boy/crowd favorite coach for nothing. Sorta like this, hee hee.)

Gee, in other news, the sun rose in the east today. like no one saw this coming, 10 WEEKS AGO! Congrats to OSU - remember, Cooper was 2-10-1 against us so don't go mounting your high horse quite yet. Things can change just like that - ask Oklahoma....or BC....or Oregon...or....

Make all the jokes you want, the fact remains that everything wrong with the Michigan program now and over the past 10 years can be attributed directly to Lloyd Carr and his cronies DeBord, Hermann and English. Period.

You do realize whoever they get next may be even worse, right? Let's say it's Miles. He didn't built the team he has now. Can he do it in Michigan? His play calling gets wins, but what if those crazy calls had backfired?

Just sayin...

Meanwhile I still have so much love for FSU's old guard(Bobby Bowden and Micky Andrews) if only for their interviews each week:

Carr: 1 Heisman player under tenure
Bo: None

Lloyd, quite simply, would not have gotten that title without Charles Woodson. Watch some of those games from the season - you can bet I have, to the point where those tapes are my only ones just about run down - there are no fewer than five(5) situations in 3 games that would've seen Michigan in bad field position offensively at a critical moment, or opposing teams score or get in the red zone thanks to bad defensive play-calling ("coincidentally" enough, Jim Hermann's first year as defensive coordinator) only to be saved by Woodson's superhuman athleticism. Griese was a true leader that year, but lets not pretend that Michigan's offense was a points juggernaut. Considering that those games (Notre Dame, Ohio State, Rose Bowl against WASU) ended in one-possession scores, it was Charles Woodson...not Lloyd Carr...that got us that title.

What does Lloyd Carr earn? Never defeating Jim Tressel. 2-5 losses a season. Looking outmatched in bowl games. Spoiling good recruiting potential. These things aren't even just sporadic "Oh they only seemed to have happened now!" or "Oh that's exaggerating!" things. No, these are things that could be counted upon as certainty every single year. Every year, he would get shown up by Tressel. Every year you could count on him losing 2 games Michigan never should've lost - every year under Jim Hermann you could count on those losses coming under his PATHETIC, never-worked Prevent "Surely the other team won't eat up yards and score in 2 minutes" "defense". Every year you could count on him looking outclassed during a bowl game. Every year you could count on great recruits never seeing their potential because they were never coached up properly - under Mike DeBord you could count on Heisman potentials never getting the chance to perform as they should. And every year, Michigan's status as a national contender dropped and dropped until finally we have become a joke. Thanks to the biggest joke of them all, Lloyd Carr. No, mock Bo's record all you want. Under him that team was TRAINED, was PREPARED, was RESPECTED, and was a POWER. Michigan only went straight down under Lloyd Carr. Thanks but no thanks.
