Mr. Gould died today at the age of 60.

As sad as it may seem, being a pop culture-ite, I can best relate to Gould appearing on an episode of the Simpsons (the one with the "springfield angel").

Of course, I'm not much of a science guy and what am interested in is physics, not biology, so I'm out of the loop here.

Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform,
And tell you every detail of Caractacus's uniform;
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern Major-General.

It's sad that we get most of our culture second-hand through the Simpsons, isn't it? I know I do.

- Surprised you didn't know that...

Actually, what's even sadder is that I only know the titles of both of Gould's books because I used to shelve the science area when I worked at Borders.

I think I actually heard Johnny Miller say that Els could have passed him by winning Sunday and Tiger finishing 16th or worse (or something like that)...I know Vijay is close too, and Micklelson is bound to be within shouting distance by now.
