He was battling cancer and there was a false alarm last week that Sir Oliver Humperdink died, but now the worst has come to pass. I only knew his work from when he came into the WWF as the manager of Bam Bam Bigelow in 1987, but he's another of a breed of pro wrestling managers gone. RIP.

The House is now empty. Perhaps the greatest wrestling song of all time.

Sad. Another great performer that Vince managed to make an idiot out of. RIP Sir Oliver!

When was this? I barely even remember Oliver in the WWF, he was there long enough for Vince to embarass him somehow?

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

He was made into a goofy face when he was managing Bigelow and later Orndorff. Now, there is no way Vince should have had Bigelow as a face anyway, as he was a green but athletic guy who had the absolute look for a killer heel in that era. Instead, he gets put in with the One Man Gang. Crockett made that mistake when he came into the NWA in '88, but at least they put him in a feud with Barry Motherfucking Windham.

The evil owner/GM/Commissioner gimmick has been beaten into the ground since 2000. When Uncle Eric did it with the NWO in '96, it was unique.
