to show how pervasive Gilligan is, I was working with a partner a few weeks ago in Europe on one of my classes and in the middle of the class, and my boss instant messages me in the middle of the class (I had forgotten to turn off IM) and said "How's your little buddy"(in reference to the other guy). The class saw the IM. One guy from the Netherlands almost immediately asked me, "does that make you the Skipper?"

See I thought it might somehow be the William Hartnett episodes as well, but I had heard that a large number of early episodes have been lost because BBC policy at the time was to only hold onto them for a certain length of time.
