The creator of the Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island has passed away. (

I really dug the Brady Bunch - Robert Reed's book detailed a lot about his relationship with Sherwood, which was quite...strained.

RIP, Sherwood, thanks for the memories.

To this day I can see the first five seconds of a Brady Bunch episode and tell you which one it is. I've seen all those shows twenty times I am sure.

Not to mention Gilligan's Island was a staple of my TV watching as a youth. RIP Mr Schwartz. Thanks for the laughs.

to show how pervasive Gilligan is, I was working with a partner a few weeks ago in Europe on one of my classes and in the middle of the class, and my boss instant messages me in the middle of the class (I had forgotten to turn off IM) and said "How's your little buddy"(in reference to the other guy). The class saw the IM. One guy from the Netherlands almost immediately asked me, "does that make you the Skipper?"

Yeah, Mr Schwartz created some real enduring stuff - not exactly Plato's Republic, but enduring in its own way.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

That the universe was formed by a fortuitous concourse of atoms, I will no more believe than that the accidental jumbling of the alphabet would fall into a most ingenious treatise of philosophy - Swift

I had a coworker who was talking about his erectile disfunction and his analogy was "it was like hammering those nails the professor made for the minnow". Gilligan's Island is everywhere.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army National Guard! Job well done in Iraq!

Bob Denver's book from years back also had a lot of love for Sherwood Schwartz. High praise indeed.

RIP, sir, and thanks for the laughs. If only they still made TV shows like yours.

"RIP Sherwood Schwartz. At his funeral, In lieu of a eulogy, they will play a theme song that tells his backstory."

Very good movie. A taut, expertly made thriller about child abductions and a war of glowering between Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Review with SPOILERS. (
