According to WFAN in New York, Phil Rizzuto passed away today at 89. Holy cow, I shall miss that huckleberry indeed...

There was never a better Hall of Fame induction speech than Rizzuto's. Other people may have earned it more, but nobody appreciated it as much.

My mother and my grandfather tried to make me a Yankees fan. Rizzuto made me a Yankees fan.

ESPN.com just put up a brief little blurb on their front page saying that Don Baylor was fired today by the Cubs. Of course, that one has been rumored for awhile and even Baylor seemed to be expecting it the last few days. Phil
