One of my heroes growing up. I am starting to get that sense of my own mortality when so many from my childhood memories are passing away.

RIP Mr Armstrong.

I have seen a lot of articles referring to Armstrong as an "American Hero" but in my opinion, he was a hero for the entire planet. Rest in peace.

A name that will forever be remembered with respect and admiration, for as long as human history exists. RIP

And he was a guy who never wanted to exploit his tremendous fame in any way, or even to really take the spotlight.

Good luck, Mr. Gorski. (grin)

I was glued to the television late at night in July when he stepped off onto the moon and uttered those words. An incredible man with humble beginnings in western Ohio.

Amazing amount of courage and faith he must've had.

Hopefully just enough time has passed that I can get away with saying that I like to remember Neil Armstrong the same way Adam McKay did back in 2000:

I had an idea from his sig, but I didn't know he had to go that bipass route. I glad you're doing good Eddie. I had a friend do it two years ago and the doc basically said: "You do this, or have a heart attack at age 29.
