A lot of people my age only knew him as the FTD guy, or the Little house on the prairie guy. But, he was a hell of a player.

Or NBC's answer to John Madden. Living in an AFC market I spent many Sunday afternoons listening to Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen calling Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos games.

I think most people in my generation know him as the guy who would stop by Ron Burgundy's apartment... on occasion.

Godspeed, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, Wisconsin Army National Guard! Victory in Iraq!

Packer fans from a previous generation knew him as part of a tough Rams squad that the Pack always seemed to bump into in the Western Conference playoffs.

Good football player, great guy. RIP Merlin.

The Warner thing is OK. I can live with him being left in, but only running Faulk 9 times is assinine. With the Giants teeing off on Warner, it only makes sense to try Marshall more and more. Draw plays, whatever, just give the guy the damn ball.
