| #1 Posted on 18.12.08 1749.20 | Instant Rating: 0.55 | Eonline and Roddenberry.com are reporting the passing away of the Star Trek cast member and widow of ST originator Gene Roddenberry this morning. She was featured in The Original series pilot as the first officer and on the series itself as Nurse Chappel. She also played Deanna Troi's mother on TNG and was the voice of the computer on most incarnations of the franchise (which will be her last role in the upcoming movie.)

Played Number One, Nurse Chapel and was the voice of the computer on many iterations of Star Trek.
Was supposed to be the voice of the computer in new Star Trek movie. Not sure if she had recorded the part before her death or not.

I am saddened, and I hate that I only now realize how much of an influence her various characters had me. (OST and ST:TNG were required viewing in my household growing up) She wasn't perfect, and her characters were never demure and her voice will always bring to mind good memories. | Teapot
