Eonline and Roddenberry.com are reporting the passing away of the Star Trek cast member and widow of ST originator Gene Roddenberry this morning. She was featured in The Original series pilot as the first officer and on the series itself as Nurse Chappel. She also played Deanna Troi's mother on TNG and was the voice of the computer on most incarnations of the franchise (which will be her last role in the upcoming movie.)
I am saddened, and I hate that I only now realize how much of an influence her various characters had me. (OST and ST:TNG were required viewing in my household growing up) She wasn't perfect, and her characters were never demure and her voice will always bring to mind good memories.
I concur with "mild recommendation". You ever hear a guy tell a joke, get a laugh and then decide the best way to follow up the joke he just told was to tell it again? That's The Other Guys. Review with SPOILERS: http://www.backofthehead.
