One of the greatest, most understated rock-n-rollers passed away today in Las Vegas from a heart attack. He was 57.
I remember at least 15 years ago when Entwhistle was on the Stern show. Howard managed to get him to play bass while Stern sang Who Parody songs, including "Behind One Eye" (howard as Sammy Davis Jr) and some parody of "My Generation."
The Who were about to start a US tour tomorrow.
Here's to Boris the Spider.

wow, i'm in shock. i went to see them in 97 during the quadrophenia tour and it was an awesome show.
Marge: Mr. Scorpio, this house is almost too good for us. I keep expecting to get the bums rush. Scorpio: We don't have bums in our town, Marge, and if we did, they wouldn't rush, they'd be allowed to go at their own pace.
o_O... well, that's shitty. Didn't really get into the Who, but I do like some of their songs (yes, even "Eminence Front"...). Didn't know he had any health issues... then again, I said the same for Darryl Kile.
This really sucks. I was gonna try to get tickets to see The Who and Robert Plant this summer. Even if they still do the tour, I don't think I'd go. They're already missing Keith Moon, without Entwhistle, whats the point. I'll go listen to Live at Leeds instead.
I don't agree with this touring thing. It's just Townshend and Daltrey now...that's not the Who. The Who are all four guys. You don't see McCartney and Ringo teaming up for a tour and billing themselves as the Beatles.
RIP John. Best bassist ever.
I was born in a manger, like that other guy. You know, he wore a hat?
Aaaaand here's my personal top 100 of the year. Only requirements were to be on an album released during 2003 or to be a single sometime during the year. 100. Idlewild - A Modern Way Of Letting Go - The Remote Part 99.
