He also the first players drafted by the NFL, although he never played (due to the miserly nature of George Halas).
FYI: It was actually not the Heisman until the year after he won it. That year, 1935, it was called the Downtown Athletic Club Award.

| #3 Posted on 27.6.02 1947.43 | Instant Rating: 8.18 | Not to be ghoulish, but when you're in the media, you learn that sometimes you have to be the bearer of bad news. And when you are a junkie for reading the wires, you find the news as soon as it breaks.
Plus, if it someone that deserves memorializing (or in the Darryl Kile, when it is NEWS), it shouldn't be 'swept under the rug.'
Ed: And hey, it didn't post about Ann Landers or Dear Abby, whichever one of the sisters that passed away last week.
