Had I not caught the news this weekend, I likely would have looked him up in a year or two due to not having seen him in anything in a while (which is what happened with J.T. Walsh and Lane Smith).
This is a HUGE bummer, because he was in everything from Scent of a Woman to Homeland to Seinfeld to Independence Day to Law & Order to My Cousin Vinny... I mean EVERYTHING.
Yeah, definitely one of the top "hey, it's that guy" character actors. I first saw him in My Cousin Vinny, which was classic, but the first thing I think of with him is his fine work as Peter's boss on White Collar.
It was always good to see his name in the credits of a show, and it's sad that that won't happen anymore. RIP.
