Doctor Who actress Elisabeth Sladen dies aged 63

Doctor Who star Elisabeth Sladen, who was also in spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures, has died aged 63.

Sladen appeared as Doctor Who assistant Sarah Jane Smith in the BBC television sci-fi series between 1973 and 1976 opposite Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker.

In more recent times the Liverpool-born actress went on to appear in four series of The Sarah Jane Adventures on children's channel CBBC.

BBC entertainment reporter Lizo Mzimba said she had had cancer for some time.

This comes after just spending time yesterday reading the Nicholas Courtney obits in the new DR WHO mag.

Really puts a damper on season premiere this week.

I just watched the season 2 reunion episode yesterday, too. This is damn depressing news since I thought she really help legitimize the new run. RIP Sarah Jane.

Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir.
A sad day for nerds.

Apparently half of series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures was filmed, but I'm not sure how/if they should wrap things up there.

Edit: Here is the story that I got the Series 5 info from.

I enjoyed them both as well and the season as a whole. Was it just me or did anyone think that these two episodes were more 'edgy' in terms of language and content?
