According to Yahoo (music.yahoo.com) Buck Owens has passed away.

For people like me who are fans of traditional country, this is a real tragedy since he was far more than just the host of Hee Haw. It's hard to overstate just how good he really was as both a vocalist and as a guitarist during his prime. I'll certainly be pulling out the turntable and the old Buckaroos albums tonight.

RIP Buck

Tim

So many great songs, and a tremendous artist.

A lot of the newer "country" singers could take more than a cue from his career.

RIP indeed.

I loved his chemistry with Brad Paisley, both musically and personally. I kind of wish I would have gotten more into his music when I was younger, though.

RIP, Buck. Enjoy the sunshine and glory in heaven.

Every five years someone gets called "the next Bob Dylan". Bright Eyes is nowhere near him. I think he's ok...I really, really like the song Bowl of Oranges. I'd say he's more like a new Travis.
