Rick asking me to take on RAW and Nitro for his new site WrestleManiacs in 1998 - and me saying sure - put me on a life path I never would have imagined.

Man that sucks. His site, Micasa, Scoops... so many great memories following the early and mid Monday Night Wars through the lens of this newfangled internet thing (on my schools dial-in internet connection no less).

Thanks for the memories and all the great news and opinion. God Speed.

Rick arguably provided the first platform for several folks Within the beginnings of the IWC, Rick along with DEAN~ and DVDVR, were pioneers in delivering content. While Meltzer and Wade still did their newsletters, Rick and DVDVR brought us websites and web content that we consumed with our dial up internet. His contributions should not be discounted.

RIP.

I read his stuff religiously back in the day. Sad to see so many of the internet wrestling pioneers passing away with Hyatte, DEAN and now The Rick.

I remember when I had dial-up I'd open CRZ's RAW and Nitro reports in different windows then disconnect and read them offline. I somehow miss those days!

Aw man I'm so sorry. Obviously if not for Rick I don't think I'd have wound up here.

RIP Rick

There was a period of years where I'd read pretty much every word on Online Onslaught. I never met Rick, probably never even emailed with him, but it felt as though I knew him. Very sorry to hear this.

I also read his stuff, and along with Hyatte, they brought me into the world of online content. RIP.

I can echo the sentiments from above. Scaia and CRZ were the must-reads to get your real wrestling information and entertainment. That is a YOUNG CRZ in that photo, man.

Oh man, my condolences to his family and loved ones... I definitely read Online Onslaught a ton back in the early '00s as well.

Yeah, same. I loved reading his columns on online onslaught up until he lost control of the domain name or something?

The OO forums lived on for a while elsewhere before they wound up as well.

Been disconnected for a month, so a bit shocked to see this first up here. Condolences for those that knew him

Really sad to hear. Never met him in person but I e-mailed him out of nowhere & he let me write a column for OO for about 6 months - my first internet-published work. RIP.

Now that Batista has won the ME spot in Wrestlemania, do you think he will pull the old swerve with HHH and Flair and go after JBL for Smackdown's title, much like Benoit did last year? RAW has plenty of faces it can move into a ME picutre with HHH:
