It's on the front page of Extra's website. Only link out there I could find, and his website has gone dark.

He supposedly killed himself. I've read threads on other boards speculating that he had some sort of uncurable disease, but nothings been confirmed yet.

I liked the guy. I thought he was funny, and always wondered why he didn't act more. I only remember him in the Mask and some various sitcoms. Though he was in the Dr. Katz episode with Winona Rider, I believe.

RIP.

Man, he did the best Shatner/Capt Kirk ever!

Sad news.

Here are some more thoughts from a demented mind in Central Florida:
Fucking hell, and God damn it.

I saw this guy at the Hard Rock Live back in June or July of 2005. He still had it. His "Greatest Bits" album always made me laugh.

What a depressing way to start my Sunday afternoon. Shit.

Why yes, I am both a musician and a lawyer. Thanks for asking. :)

Just when I was getting over John Inman's passing. I loved Jeni's specials and I was one of the seven viewers of Platypus Man.

You just ruined my day. I had no idea that he died.

Sadly, the only ones from the main cast that are still alive are:

Nicholas Smith -- Mr. Cuthbert "Jug ears" Rumbold
Frank Thornton -- Captain Stephen Peacock
Mollie Sugden -- Mrs. Betty Slocombe
Wendy Richard -- Ms. Shirley Brahms

Trevor Bannister -- Mr. Dick Lucas
Mike Berry -- Mr. Bert Spooner

All the actors that played the senior gents salesmen have passed away.

"Are you being served?" will always hold a special place in my heart because it was one of the shows that got me hooked on British Sitcoms. I did see "Fawlty" Towers in the early '80s but I was really too young to grasp the humor, save the silly walk in the one with the Germans.
