Apparently, Condoleeza Rice has stated that the coalition still intend to hand over power to an Iraqi government on June 30th. This seems like a panic move to me. Surely, seeing as we've caused the infighting that is destabilising the nation, we should sort it out before we hand over power to a government who would be unable (unwilling) to maintain peace and order. Or does the coalition expect the bloodshed to stop the minute we leave? It's rather like borrowing a friends car, wrecking it, then tossing him back the keys because it's suddenly lost it's appeal.

How eactly is it a panic move to do what we said we were going to do?

This may be one of the more unique arguments I have ever heard from the left. We wrecked the place because we should've never been there in the first place. So now we have to stay...

Um, we are not leaving June 30th. We are simply handing over "power". But our presence in Iraq will be as large, if not larger, after June 30 as it was before. This move is largely just cosmetic. Nothing really changes in the grand scheme of things.

If we delayed, the nutballs win. As stated previously, we aren't leaving just "handing over power."

I had just come from voting & was wondering what you guys thought of the effectiveness (if any) of voting for a major party candidate, but on the ticket of one of the smaller party's they are representing & not on their main party ticket? (for example:
