That's nice thinking and all, but c'mon man, you're talking about the Cubs here. He probably would've been the 60s version of Dwight Gooden with their luck. That's like putting a Jeff Bagwell Red Sox card up there. You *know* he would've got Carpal Tunnel or something and hit .240 every year for the Old Towne Team. That's just the way it is.
Other than the fact that we have a great history and tradition with divisions, why do we need them? Don't the problems go away a bit if you take the top N teams in the league instead of the top team in each division plus some wildcard deal?
