Not sure if it's the first of several or what any other circumstances may be. Good luck to him and his French Tickler.

So much for this guy being the next Ric Flair. Although I was so sure that once his French Dance of French Rudeness got over he'd have a permanent roster spot. It seems hardly fair that Dupree's out in the cold while Sylvan's in the midst of getting repackaged for the ump-teenth time.

I don't see him getting picked up by TNA, but stranger things have happened. It's more likely that Dupree will become an indy mainstay.

Even though the French Tickler was cool, the days of bashing the French are long gone in regards to the war in Iraq. Wasn't that the original idea of the La Resistance gimmick? To bash the French for opposing the US invading Iraq? Once public opinion shifted against Bush and the war, the "evil French guy" was irreverent, no matter how it was (re)packaged.

Plus, he never showed me much in the ring, other than a firm grasp of the basics. I didn't think he was nearly as talented as Conway, but they were the best combination of La Res.

IIRC he had Wellness problems that derailed the planned La Resistance ECW push. That's also probably the big difference between Sylvan sticking and him not. Plus Dupree regressed and Sylvan got competent.

Is that why Meltzer cryptically referred to Dupree having been "groomed for ECW tag title"? Was there ever really a plan to have a third set of tag belts?

The unamericans were ahead of their time by about 3 years. They would be faces today.

Yes, then no, then yes, then no, then yes, then no, then yes again, then upon further consideration no, then six hours later it was a yes again. Then, the next day, the plan was finally scrapped for good. For eight hours. And now it's probably never going to happen. Maybe.

I was always surprised that he didn't get more of a push when the French Tickler started slowly but consistently getting more and more over until all the issues concerning Wellness came out (as Justin already mentioned). Considering the length of time he was off television (almost a year unless I'm mistaken), he was lucky in the sense that he got a lot more chances than probably anybody else would have in that situation.

A wonderful tribute to a wonderful man.
