NESN and the Red Sox are vehemently denying this report. If they go with two stations, I'd love it, as it would give a few games a night to flip to, and I wouldn't have to rely on putting on the radio to get Yankee updates. Even if they do it as 1 station, it would be nice to have a game sent in on nights when the Red Sox or Bruins (oh wait, every night between now and 2010 the Bruins won't be playing) are off. But, as long as the current regime is in charge of the Red Sox and Steinbrenner owns the Yankees, this will have as much chance having as cats and dogs have of mating.
I don't think there's that much animosity, outside Lucchino and his Evil Empire crack, between the two teams. It could bring in a lot of money. I think the Mets/Red Sox would be better. Instead of New England Sports Network they could call it North East Sports Network.
First, you can follow the flight of the plane! (shameless stolen from baseball primer) Also, CNNSI is saying it's a done deal. 6 years, $8.5 mil, with incentives that could take it to 6/$10. Ignoring the posting fee, that's a nice deal.
