I hate the Red Sox with a passion but damned if they didn't rebound completely after that godawful 2012 season. Frankly, I'm surprised more of us didn't see this coming --- 2012 was caused less by Bobby V and more by Ortiz, Pedroia, Lester, Buchholz, Ellsbury and more all being injured. These guys were all healthy (save Buchholz) in 2013 and boom, the team is awesome again. Combine that with John Lackey's resurrection, Koji Uehara becoming a superman and hitting on all of their gritty, count-working, OBP, beard guys, and there are your champions.

"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball

Bobby Valentine is an idiot. People should stop making him manager.

Announcer: "We're here with a man who's gone to every Red Sox home game for the last 60 years."
Me: "Boy, would I love to have that luxury."
ekeMom: "Does he have a life?!"

"I'm sorry, I'm not much of a hugger."
"Not yet you're not."

When John Farrell took over the Blue Jays, he said his goal was to win the World Series within three years, AND HE DID IT!

How about Ellsbury slipping past FOUR fielders to get back to first base? He played that perfectly.

That's because that lazy-ass Molina didn't hustle down there and cover first base like the catcher is supposed to do. Hah!

Dave Johnson was every bit as good a second baseman as Grich. And your relief staff would have Dick Hall, Eddie Watt, Pete Richert and Moe Drabowsky all over any Olson.
