I put this here instead of the Movies section only because it is a rumor at this point that he has first refusal of the part and I think more people here than Movies would know who Marston is.
Do you all think he's a good choice? Obviously, the charachter model is just that, a model that the producers will go on, but the actor will not have to look just like him. What matters to me is that they can get an actor that has that same tone of voice.
Marston's voice is so, scratchy, and distinctive that any other voice would be weird. I THINK Pitt could talk like him, he certainly is a good actor, but would he be the right choice?
Going by looks, Josh Brolin wouldn't be a bad idea. After Jonah Hex, I don't know if he'd want to do another western.

A little context, When I first bought the game, she heard his voice and thought Marston sounded like him. She insisted that it was him and went so far as to dig out her DVD's of the show so I could hear him. Gotta say that the sound is pretty close.
I really didn't watch the show...well except when the boobies were on display.
I really don't see Brad Pitt as Marston. I'd really like to see a great actor that is less known. The Dude that played Sawyer in Lost might be a good fit. Just throwing that out there. A little hair dye, a little less twang in his accent. Works for me. |
