Nice signing for Tampa that gives them another big weapon in the middle of their lineup. Longoria-Pena-Burrell is a scary trio.
As a Jays fan, it's pretty damn frustrating to see a big bat like Burrell go to a division rival for a relatively small contract, especially when a hitter like Burrell is exactly what the Blue Jays need most. Damn you, economy....
Burrell is a better fit than Giambi would have been. However, the key to the Rays is does the extra month of pitching wear down the starting pitching, as has happened to other teams recently, and does Grant Balfour and that bullpen continue to do well, or does the Tampa pen turn back into the arson squad it was in the past?
