Through the magic of TIVO I got to watch this show and am cuttting and pasting my thoughts into Phil's report as we disagree more than usual. The DVDVR archiveing system is kind of hit and miss and well i can't find any of my old TNA reports that I didn't post on the weinerboard. So even though this is dated and no one needs to read it, I'm posting this here so I will be able to find it later....and thus hopefully won't accidentally repete the same jokes/analysis twice.

PAS:Tom is either in jail, rehab or elbow deep in a fat girl so I am going solo this week. Fun show this week for the most part

TKG:OK first of all "elbow deep"? Just because a woman is loose enough to let me stuff her doesn't mean she's so loose that I can get my full forearm in her. Second, not that fun of show.

What Worked:

TKG: I was pleasantly surprised that the Bossman tribute didn't include a picture of Bossman hung on a noose from a cage. That showed a level of taste and respect that I don't expect out of the WWE.

PAS: Helmsley v. Shelton was a fine low grade main event. Shelton still desperately needs some offense. I am also sort of amused at Helsmley seeing how many times he can job to a guy without elevating him at all. I mean Scott Hall only lost to Hector Garza once.

PAS: Hurricane/Rosey v. Tajiri/Rhyno was a shadow of their great Heat match, but was still good enough to go here. I hope the rubber match is main eventing Heat where it belongs.

TKG: This was only good match on the show. "Fun show for the most part"? I liked this. I liked the Flair mic segment but that was about it.

PAS: Flair is basically washed up, but I really liked old washed up guys. Hell I am driving to Philly to see the Midnight Express, I drove to North Carolina to see Canek and Pierroth, I buy tapes to watch Fuchi and Momota matches. You got to sit through some rough sad shit most weeks, but this was some classic Flair. Orton is a fine Sting as a guy who Flair is constantly turning on. I need to see Randy and Bob v. Ric and David.

TKG:Ok, Snitsky vs. Venis was actively good. No Venis shouldn't be jobbing to Snitsky. Venis shouldn't be a jobber. But goddamn you watch that match and realize that Venis is far and way the best worker on the RAW brand. As he wrestled this match by himself. The clothesline bump in corner was amazing as you really had to rewind to realize that "damn does Schnitsy's clothesline suck...even by WWE standards" Venis work covered for all of Schnitskys flaws and...Fuck is Schnitsky flawed.

PAS: Damn when you put Batista in the role of guy who will beat your ass, he will beat your ass. That knee to face was ugly.

TKG:Batista was good. I'm amused by the Batista was always the future of Evolution angle. Isn't he older than Helmsley. Just Helmsleys schtick is older at this point. Youngest guy to hold title Randy Orton isn't as good in this role as youngest guy to hold the title Tommy Rich. Meltzer seemed to imply in the Barnett obit, that the Barnett Rich blow job story was a myth. And well you watch old Rich from around time he got title...and you watch current Randy Orton and you can see how much smarter a worker Rich was. How much better he read an audience. How much better his timing was. How much better his Thesz press was. I mean face Orton doesn't even get to do the signature Orton agresive chinlocks. Face Rich still knew how to work a sleeper into his matches. Also weird that near the end of Orton's heel run he brought back the great high crossbody (from Orton's syndi run). But he doesn't use the crossbody as a face? Crossbody is a heel move?

What Didn't Work

TKG:Helmsley vs. Benjamin really belongs in the what doesn't work category. Benajmin was booked like indy guy who was given some offense in his Heat squash. Helmsley looked like a poor man's Wavell Starr. They're pushing Wavell Starr?...no wonder Noble left. This was bad.

PAS: Maybe I'll find the Gene Snistky thing nostalgic camp in 10 years, but now it is just stupid boring shit. I saw the One Warrior Nation, you sir are no One Warrior Nation.

PAS: Micheals looks like Sammy Hagar at this point in his career. I never want to have to watch any combo of these four guys work ever again.

TKG: Are they going to just run this match again and again hoping one of the times it will finally work?

PAS: I really like Ace Steel, but getting his hair cut by a retard and getting punted by Bishoff isn't going to get you an OVW deal. I think he should just be happy being a big fish in a smaller pond. Mission of Burma never wanted to be Kansas.

PAS: That was the initiation? Where was Ivory to tear her ACL? P.S. Hayes to piss on her? Could D-Von and Bubba Ray come over for a one night curling iron? The stupid fucks gave her 250 grand, Dreamer should at least roofie her and shit on her chest. I guarantee that Tough Enough Winner is not just going to be getting the soapy finger but the thumb.

Venis has been the best worker on the Raw brand for a good two months or so now. I'm not sure why he is so motivated as he had every right to throw in the towel the moment they shitcanned the Chief gimmick so Austin could reappear as a Sheriff.

Sadly, this is so true. And let's not even get into their love for unnecessary blading and unprotected chair shots (which I'm fairly certain that this past Impact ended with one as a main focal point).
