I just hope they don't decided to throw a McMahon or "star" into this group if they do its pretty much curtains. I am not going to get worked up over the NXT invasion til I see some more. They have screwed these time of angles up way too many times for me to think otherwise. It started good which is a plus, but can they continue it?
Maybe they should hire Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to book it.
So you're saying his comment about The Alliance is not accurate? Hogan and Bisch's parts are being played by Barrett and probably Cole.

I completely disagree. When Steph walked down the ramp and past Vince to join Paul and Shane, the place went bonkers. The eventual development of the story may have not been stellar, but the defection of the Million-Dollar Princess was the kicker.
they let Danielson lead the charge? I'd vote for THAT.
Eh when she started screeching and The Ecw guys pretty much bowed to her it hurt the rebel vibe they had.
Two thoughts came to mind last night. (1) Jericho either as leader of this group or the next big victim as he tries to curry favor with Barrett. (2) Hmm, who's been out of action for a while and available to be The Savior of the WWE? I wonder ...

Super Shane McMahon? I'm sure he could take out The entire New Nwo like it's nothing and he doesn't need a sledgehammer like his brother in law just his hands of stone. Anyway yeah I'm sure HHH will be back just in time.
Oh, one other thought. Anyone else flash back to the Seinfeld episode with "Mandelbaum, Mandelbaum, Mandelbaum!" when Bryan Danielson was screaming "You're not better than me!" at Cena? All that was missing was Danielson trying to lift a huge TV and cracking his back.

I watched every episode of NXT and think Jericho was the only one who treated the rookies with respect. He constantly barraged the announcers for not putting the talent over and I dont recall him ever treating Barrett like a cronie; as a matter of fact, he pushed Barrett to the moon.
He also had lots of singles interaction (beating Danielson & losing to Slater) which may have made them appreciate them.
Lastly, in recent interviews he's been constantly stating how he wants to make sure that he helps get the young talent get over...he would be "saving" them from obscurity right?
Though making Jericho the leader almost guarantees that HHH will come back and squash them all.
Ok, Ive exceeded my CRZ Fantasy Booking Quota so I'll let the rest of you make the time between now and NXT tonight seem shorter.

He also stated Barrett won cause he was his mentor and anyone else would have won with him as their mentor. That comment could end up going one way or another.
It seems doubtful that any of this was part of the plans as far back as the last NXT show*, but it would be so great if the entire teasing of a second season was an elaborate fake out, WWE acting as is if they were about to make the same mistakes as they did in the first season only for it all to be rejected in first show.
By teaming up all the NXT rookies without regard to what happened in their season, they're saying what happened wasn't much worth keeping. It wouldn't make sense to then just do it again with a few slight tweaks if they actually want to keep the show going beyond a second season.
If the idea here is to ridicule the NXT process, then the ridiculousness of Husky Harrison and the son of Curt Hennig who's name isn't Hennig is actually some twisted genius.
* - the best case you make otherwise is the quick Miz/Daniels match last week to cap that feud, since it's dropped down the list of priorities quite a bit. But there was no foreshadowing like the Barrett interview on RAW, and they usually hint at stuff like this.

"you would put a FIERCE FIGHTING WARRIOR like me with Lay Cool?"
Percy Watson will be the DDP of the angle since everyone thinks he's tight with Heath Slater and the South Beach Party Guys or whatever they were called.

I stopped watching right before the Edge/Orton match started, but after reading what happened, went back and watched the ending. WOW. I actually think them not providing any commentary during the beatdown really made the segment more serious and realistic.
I loved them tearing apart everything, choking Justin Roberts, beating up Stryker and King, and demolishing Cena. Cena selling the beatdown as if it were the NWO made every one of those clowns seem legit. Bravo for the WWE to sacrifice their star for one night to let the young guns shine.
I quit watching because I got tired of the A-Team skits, but damnit that was as cool of an ending as there's been in a long time ... I fully expect to watch NXT tonight as they've now got my interest.
I'll be honest. I FFed through the Cena match and when I saw Barrett come out I was like "WTF?", kept FFing until the NXT guys started tearing up the ring. Then I went back and rewatched it. And I still have this reaction: WTF?
The LAST thing I expected was to come read 50-odd posts LOVING that whole thing. I'm not saying I disagree, but even upon rewatching, I don't "get it". I must be withholding judgment until I see the follow-up, because I'm trying but I can't get fired up about it
Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

This was similar to my reaction, disbelief that they actually were doing this, or more so that WWE came up with it. And is Orton as injured as they say? I keep getting the feeling this is a swerve. That he will end up winning the belt, and then rehashing the Austin injury angle from 1997 when he broke his neck.

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
But I don't think there has to be a mastermind behind it. I rather don't see one. It just would fuck things up. Leave it like it is: 8 pissed off rookies!
The A-Team stuff felt like something out of those Saturday Night Main Event shows, with the hokey skits and stuff...but man, the ending was INCREDIBLE.
Kudos to the WWE for a great way to finish a generally dumb show.

It's 100 times better. Feuds haven't just been thrown together a week before the event. Rock/Brock has a big-time feel, and the undercard is awesome, as has been detailed in this thread. High hopes for this one.
