Well, use a little logic. The WWF locker room fought off an Invasion[tm] of most of WCW _and_ ECW, and assimilated the majority of them after the fact. Now, the combined locker room is supposed to be petrified of three guys coming in -- an old blowhard, a deteriorated lush and a big stiff with two moves.

Of COURSE the current locker room could wipe the floor with the nWold, if they acted in concert. There is strength in numbers. (Flash back to Palumbo and O'Haire getting the snot stomped out of them.) This would have to be scripted as more of a booking-related angle, i.e. Vince plays the Bad Boss who hands every advantage to the unholy trio, essentially the Corporation v2.x, and the rest of the WWF has to figure out how to beat them at their own shit-disturbing backstage-influence game.

Or they can book it as if any of these three have anything left in the tank as far as their wrestling abilities go, in which case we really _are_ destined to watch crap for the near future.

Ah, but you just gave me an idea! What if.... there were.... factions? What if one group of people really got riled up about the nWo, and wanted to take them down. What if another group joined the nWo? What if one group just sat on the fence and said, "We don't care who it is, we'll just come out on the winning side?" That could be a cool way to play it, if you did it right. Of course, that only holds for a long-term nWo angle (in my mind anyway) if you're only doing a short term thing, you wouldn't want the whole lockeroom split in the end. Or wait, I forgot about the promotional split! Maybe then those that join the nWo end up on one side, thus that stuck with Flair go to the others, and then the fencesitters get drafted. I dunno.... I should've gone to work today

true... that might work... but the problem is it didn't really put the angle over did it... where is o'haire now?... and it drove the other one to partner with billy!.... anyway it's all in the booking and the writing... not sure what's going to happen but it will be interesting...

The many NWO signs from last night's crowd notwithstanding, I won't be convinced the NWO angle will fly unless I see the same sort of reaction outside "WCW country." I still think they need to get this rolling ASAP if it has any chance at success. But I am interested in how exactly they're going to go about it, and that's more than I can say for anything the WWF did in 2001.

The fact that there are that many signs might trigger the unknowing fan to look things up, to ask around (and if not, they will just follow the hype *grin*)
The fact that they are building them with all the on-screen talk, with the promos and stuff will make people aware and trigger them..
the invasion was just 'guys run in, we take over'.
This is being brought as a true threat, even though they are a small group (at least, thats what we think?!)and therefor the building up makes it look more like a threat already..

Hey everyone, I just got a capture card, and FIRST THING I did was make a capture of the Desire Vid. It turned out VERY nice, and it's on Morpheus, search: WWF DESIRE LEGENDS
it's an .avi file, and it's big, so be warned...

Dude, I was at RAW in Richmond and I have to admit I got a little bit of guilty pleasure out of digging up my nWo shirt from the bottom of my dresser. It was really fun to hear the crowd get behind DDP again. I hope that keeps up. I think could get a little play if the nWo has a few midcarders. I thought the chanting "You suck!" "What?" chants were hilarious and I am glad I had a little part in starting it. Other than that, I was sort of disappointed. You would think the WWF could do something between commericials for the fans. Hell, even have Lillian Garcia just strut around the ring or something. Or bring back Wild Cat Willie. Aww yeah... Anyway, it was pretty cool to see Mr. Perfect in a dark match. Never would have thought I would have seen that in a million years. I'll admit, I was a little pissed that The Rock wasn't there. Dammit, that was how I convinced two of my girl friends to go. He owes me!

OK, it probably has been said way too many times, but this RAW was what cool kids call "the off-da-hook hot funky ish." Seriously, this show had A) great promos, like the McMahon-Flair promo which made the nWo angle a "slow build;"
B) great wrestling, like that Angle-Austin main event which totally kicked all seven flavours of ass; and C) the Undertaker putting the screws to some poor sap (Maven) while someone (Chris Jericho) laughs at the poor sap having the screws put to him. As A and B are entertaining and great, I personally love C.

Now, how can the WWF keep this level of quality on a more consistent basis?
