I have to say, aside from the CONSTANT reminders that they are on the right show, I think JR and the King are having a LOT of fun tonight. JR seems really loosened up, and his "Woody 'the King' Lawler" line had me laughing.

And the Undertaker has given me plently of drops to use on the radio...thank you Taker.

I agree. Color me impressed. There are good storylines, decent wrestling, and nice eye candy. Excellent show so far.

You're in a desert, walking along in the sand when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise. It's crawling towards you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over. But it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.

OK. . .*I'll* say this even if no one else will.

Oh dear. I hope that wasn't a spoiler.

Do you think there's any chance that Farooq or D-Von will be getting big pushes (e.g. Bubba and Bradshaw)?

How about the delay on that pyro there? Yeah, his music is kinda messed up. It's not even on most versions of Forcible Entry and yet they're making it his new there for tonght anyway.

KNEE DROP TO THE BEER CAN!!!!

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

Hell yeah. That was 4 snowflake match if ever I saw one.

Austin's expressions while Flair had his episode had me in stitches. . ."Will you PLEASE get over here and stop your epizootics?"

Decent enough RAW, I think, except for the Hardys/Mr. Bossman match, which was an affront to God.

It sounds like a crappy Queensryche song, IMHO.
I have mixed feelings now that Raw is over. It started out good, but had some crap matches (Regal/Spike), and the ending just didn't make sense. I know, I know he's STONECOLDSTONECOLDSTONECOLD as Ross tells us, but it was stupid to have him stun Flair. Flair's the classiest guy in the world and Austin is still a face after attacking him? Wahoo.

Dude, that was EXACTLY what I said to my roommate when I saw them come out.

Too bad it wasn't Perfect and DiBiase or I would have had my old team together again.

When Bradshaw and Crash appeared in a vignette, I said "Wait a minute...It's not Sunday, is it?"

It was a spectacular opening match. Triple H and Undertaker was better than expected (good...I have tickets to Backlash). That new belt looks DAMN fine.

Can we PLEASE just let Brock be in an actual match already?!?

All around, a decent RAW...Austin holding out the beer, WAITING to toast was funny....as you know, you just DON'T leave someone hanging like that! What a faux pas.

I thought the matches were all good...funny thing is, I keep having to remind myself I WON'T see these storylines continue on Thursday. And that's... an interesting secnario.

BTW, anyone notice they finally got the side screens to work about halfway through the show? I was wondering why they were big green bars at first.

Perfect/Bossman rocked my world! I was waiting for the Hardys to put on matching yellow and black masks and morph into the Killer Bees to complete the time warping effect. As cool as some things were (RVD/Booker nice match, angry Molly, Trish giving me nasty thought material holding Terri like that for so long), nothing was as cool as the guardians of 1989 as a tag team.

"You used it to shove your miserable daughter down our throats week in and week out...not anymore!" - Ric Flair gives me hope, Raw 3/18/02

"I thought it was cool how HHH just tossed Jericho out of the ring and made him vanish, possibly into another dimension, at the end of the match." - Dr. Unlikely says the funniest thing I've ever read on Wienerville.

I'm in with the WrestleFest crowd. That was my tag team back in the day. Them or Demolition.

As for the show, I thought was really good.

I loved how they went though the trouble of making a "Raven Harcore Champion" graphic and then having him drop the belt. It would have been so much easier to just NOT have the graphic.

The new belt is cool, but I already miss the old one.

Eddie v. RVD will be tons of fun.

Overall, I must say that I liked RAW tonight. While there were some complete wastes of matches, I still got the vibe that there was an added emphasis on wrestling-related storylines and less soap opera crap. In today's WWF, with all of the shitty writing, that's a good thing.

It's going to take a few weeks to get a good feel for where the roster on this show is headed. I mean, there isn't really a main feud to carry the show yet (Austin & Kane vs nWo?), so we'll see how that unfolds.

The new set was nice. I don't really understand the whole "slant" look, but nonetheless, it seems as if it's just an updated RAW look. I was worried that they'd change RAW's look completely like when WCW tried to turn into a spaceship. They didn't change it too much, so it works.

The new WWF belt looks nice, but I preffer the old WWF & WCW Titles. Those had history and recognition behind them, which I think makes them more meaningful.

The actual belt presentation kinda bothered me, because it hardly gave the Undertaker a chance to get over as a challenger. He's usually a lameduck challenger heading into the April/May PPVs, but he at least should have some credibility aside from a win over HHH a year ago. The way it played off, it was as if HHH's gigantic nose touching the Undertaker's made him intimidated enough to give HHH the belt himself and HHH's pinfall is a mere formality at this point.

Was it just me or was Triple H's name welded onto the belt instead of having a nameplate attached to the front? I remember the original Big Gold Flair belt was like this, too, but Flair owned the damn thing. It's not like Triple H was given that belt personally by the McMaho-- Oh, shit.

The matches weren't necessarily great. They're going to try and make Buh Buh a singles Hardcore superstar, but that'll inevitably grow old. Buh Buh seems to be really trying, though, so it's worth a shot. Spike/Regal sorta blew.

My Wrestlefest team was Perfect & Warrior. Now, if HE showed up, that would have made RAW among the best ever.

Always Believe,

v^v

Well, I guess I am in the minority in thinking that this was a mediocre at best RAW. I mean, there were some good points, like the Booker T vs RVD match, especially since this could lead to Frog Splash vs Frog Splash at Backlash (where I will be in the 6th row), Brock Lesnar beating the Hardyz up, Bradshaw taking on the NWO, and the Undertaker. Bubba vs. Raven was ok. But there was also plenty of bad, like Spike vs. Regal, Hardyz vs Perfect/Bossman, the NWO ending of the, well, NWO match, and about 1/2 hour's worth of Vince. Just because Steph is off tv now doesn't mean that Vince needs to be on twice as much.

As for Austin stunning Flair, we'll see where they go with this, but they really can't turn either one at this point.

EDIT: I forgot to add that Jerry Lawler was almost as annoying as Michael Cole tonight. Please, please can we get someone to shut him up. Or at least never let there be a womens match on any show he's announcing.

Punk really does look exactly like Ivan Koloff. So much for title vs. mask. So much for anything vs. mask. The TV this last week has done a great job of building up the two PPV main events, Cena & Sheamus vs. Nexus and Kane vs. Jack Swagger.
