| #41 Posted on 11.3.03 0921.17 | While i hated HHH's match last night, i found myself wanting Booker T to just whip his ass. This could be because of Flair but you have to give some credit to HHH. The last time i wanted his ass whipped this badly was WM2k. And of course he won there... but theres hope for this year

If next week features the Hurricane coming out, all smiles with the Rock in tow wanting revenge, that will be his moment for a rub, that will be good enough. Not if they play his damned music at the end of the sportz entertainment set-up for Rock vs Austin.

To me, it made the promo seem kind of disjointed, like he was trying separate the prison part from the HHH part. "Last week HHH got in my face, and a long time ago I went to prison and I really regret it and I'm never going to make a mistake like that again, and yeah, at Wrestlemania I'm going to beat HHH." It just didn't seem like it meshed to me. | FurryHippie

| #48 Posted on 11.3.03 1021.18 | For the record, it was a Rock Bottom, not a chokeslam. Watch the tape.
Also, it really has been touched on before, but it really REALLY annoys me. Everybody wants to hate Triple H, we know this. But sometimes there's a real logical reason for things happening.
When people compare the HHH match with the Rock match, you really have to look at the character standpoints. Quite honestly, I wouldn't think it a good idea for Maven to get as much offense as Hurricane did. Rock is in the position where he has to make kids look good, and put over up and comers. Triple H, on the other hand, is the champion heading into WrestleMania. I would agree with you guys if this was last October or something and he killed Maven. But Triple H is 3 weeks from the biggest show of the year, and he's the BY GAWD Champion. He has NO BUSINESS making us believe Maven's gonna beat him. Not here, not now. As much as we bashed him for it in the past, NOW *IS* the time for him to look his strongest. You can argue that selling for Maven won't hurt HHH's cred, but you know what? Now isn't the time for that.
And if anybody doubts that "hangup" by Maven in the ropes wasn't tinged with racial overtones (or is it undertones), you're pretty foolish. Ask yourself, how often do these people get stuck in the ropes (especially when it's obviously on PURPOSE)? Pretty big coincidence.
By the way, Maven is half-black. They've shown his mother, and she's totally white, so I'm assuming his father's the black one.

Now since Booker T attacked Triple H, the Rock gets screwed out of his title shot?
Maybe if you had seen the first 30 minutes of the show, you'd understand it. The Rock told Bischoff (in the opening segment, no less) that he didn't care about the title, or Booker T. The only thing he cared about was beating Steve Austin at Wrestlemania. So the match with Booker T was off, but he'd get someone else to have a match with (i.e. The Hurricane).
In a seperate note (not directed towards skorpio), I really get tired of hearing about how Triple H's "character" means that he should totally squash people. Well, how lucky for him that he got the one "strong heel" character, while ever other heel has to be cowardly and cheat to win. He must have won the lottery, eh?

Any Heel World HeavyWeight Champion shouldn't have to cheat and be cowardly against Maven when he's 3 weeks away from a WrestleMania Main Event. Period. Circumstantially, they did the right thing. Like I said, if this was October, he'd be in a different position. Then, it would be a little more sensible to give this essential no-name a little rub.
And also, going back to 1999/2000, Triple H's character has ALWAYS been that of a "tough" heel, rather than the Jericho or Flair-esque "coward" type. It has to do with his intensity in the ring, his physique, all of that. I wouldn't go as far as to say he was "lucky". His tough guy persona is what took him from mid card Greenwich snob to muscle-bound intense champion in the late 90's. I don't see why we have to look at this as another holding down conspiracy theory.

| #52 Posted on 11.3.03 1108.52 | Well although the move Helms did LOOKED like a Rock Bottom i think it was supposed to be a Chokeslam. Let's think about this, if Hurricane grabs the Rock in the throat then the Rock is taller than Hurricane, so the Rock's arms would drap over the Hurricane like on a Rock Bottom. Also The Rock is too heavy for the Hurricane to lift with one hand so he has to lift some other way than just grabbing by the neck, and also has to use the other arm to help. I mean what do you expect the Hurricane to do to a guy the Rock's size? Grab him my the neck and lift him with one hand and hold him for 30 seconds? So even though it might have looked like a Rock Bottom I think because of the camera angle and JR's call they were hoping to pull it off as the Hurricane's trademark chokeslam.
And I have to agree with all the people who think that Morley should wrestle more. In fact I liked him in both his match tonight and his backstage segment last week with Storm. I hope Regal never comes back.

Actually, Hurricane is pretty tall for a cruiserweight. He's listed at 6'0. He's just too damn skinny to be a heavyweight. If he were to go on the HHH diet, he might actually stand a chance at recieving a big push.

Arrrrrg - it was a Rock Bottom! Rock went to hit Hurricane with the chokeslam, and Hurricane reversed it into a Rock Bottom - that's why he stole the move, cause Rock just tried to steal his move. I have it on tape, and it pretty obvious. It's trivial crap but still, it was a Rock Bottom.

Well, you can "Arrrrrg" all you want, but I taped it too, and after just watching it again, I gotta ask you what kind of Rock Bottom is done by holding the guy's throat? Answer: A chokeslam. The rest of the move kinda looks like a Rock Bottom just because of the size difference between them. Just because you can't see his hand until the move is over doesn't mean that it's around his shoulder.
Other than that, I was wondering when people would start talking about Ric and Hunter "hanging" the young black kid after kicking his ass. I wasn't offended by it or anything, but only because I think it's pathetic that they have to resort to 1980's Race Card Booking for the World Title Match. Then again, I find myself thinking "THIS is the best they can think of?!" a lot lately, so maybe I'm just used to it...

| #59 Posted on 11.3.03 1906.54 | Oh come on you guys, the whole HBK being queer arguement is so five years ago. He's a married man and he does things however he wants, because he's HBK! Alright you're entitled to think what you want but nobody says anything about Jeff Hardy's ackward gyrations during his entrances or Chris Jericho's, "flamboyant" clothing.
I also believe Hurricane indeed did the Rock bottom. Maybe only Hurricane himself can tell which move it truly was, if even!
