Well, I enjoyed the show in the sense that the wrestling was good, and my mark friends went apeshit when Goldberg came out, so the WWE can consider that a good start.
The really really really need to keep Goldberg with Rock for as long as possible in order to keep him from getting exposed ala Scott Steiner. If anyone can make a new superstar, it's Rock.
As far as the booking goes, I have no ideal what can be accomplished by doing Booker T vs. HHH II or Shawn Michaels vs. HHH III at Backlash when it's just Triple H kicking their asses yet again to transition the title to Goldberg at Bad Blood. Just do Diesel vs. Hunter and get it over with.
Hah...hah...hah...hah! YA SCUM!!! Krankor: The Man, The Myth, The Legend
I can't stand Goldberg. He and Nash are on the top of my list of guys I don't ever want to see again. I hate this, Goldberg streak version 2 was the final straw for me in WCW and I stopped caring about. I hate that he's in the WWE, my interesting and passion for wrestling is going down the tubes the second I see this guy on my screen. I've never swore here in over a thousand posts but I have to say FUCK!
This show sucked in my opinion. After an amazing Wrestlemania they followed it up with such a lackluster effort like this. I loved the build to WM, they took a 180 turn this week and I felt it was one of the driest shows I remember, really bad.
-Austin/Bischoff- Oh great Austin's thrown out AGAIN. oh Super, one of a handful of men that's worth anything on this show is gone. So clever doing the WCW FedEx line, bottom line Austin's not on Raw, Raw sucks a whole lot more. His bald replacement CAN'T and WON'T replace Austin for me.
-HHH vs. Hurricane- I had an epiphany tonight, I'm not annoyed anymore with HHH, I just Don't Care Anymore. HHH for me has gone to a point of no return for me (much like Goldberg's streak). I swear Hurricane got a bunch of offense (and I like him) and I sat back and thought "He won't win and I don't care... The only thing I liked was Flair heeling it up with that kid.
-Steiner vs. Nowinski- Hey I like Nowinski, he was squashed in 2 minutes and dropped on his head for his troubles. Bye Nowinski.
-Maven vs. Rosey- What in the hell was this suppose to be. Look I have no clue which fat Samoan is which, and which one sucks worse and I really don't care, send them both packing! They must have some sweet inside connection to stay in the roster because this match was more clueless the the MillerLite CatFight from WM. I'm really surprised this isn't getting more mention on this board.
-Booker T vs. Jericho- Oh please save this show, Jericho's rant was great. I suspect they are going to commercial after his rant so they have a bunch of TV time for this potential show saving match. NO here comes Booker and match starts and Flair runs in 2 minutes after, there goes the idea of this match saving the show.
-Jeff Hardy vs. Stevie Richards- I like both these guys but what a total uninspired effort. Come on Steive this is your time to shine but I've seen him much better efforts on Heat matches and Jeff, well he hit his spots and didn't mess up but could you please put some effort and force in your blows... Trish comes out and flirts with Jeff, Oh I thought (and wished) they dropped this angle after Jeff was no where to be seen at Wrestlemania.
-RVD/Kane v. Morley/Storm v. Dudleyz- The only thing that was good tonight was this. And even the beginning was off. Loved the first fall of Bubba saving Morley and leaving D-von open for the Van Daminator. We come back from commercials and some much needed fast action. All 4 guys looked really strong this fall, especially Kane and RVD. Crowd was totally into this.
-Rock Appreciation- It was just an interview with a video package that (not including the WM parts) were seen on 3rd degree under Rock Superstar... SnoreBerg appears with a spear with that music and obnoxious hypnotized chant Gooooldberg Gooooldberg. Hypnotized so much in WCW that I went to sleep on it and never woke up. I hate this more then HHHate itself. Great, Nash is coming back soon too, the two pieces of untalented turds being on my screen.
-Other Stuff- Backstage was good, Golddust backstage one of a few highlights of the show... I liked Austin being serious with Terri... I also RVD & Kane backstage talk with RVD so certain he'll win the match "duh he's RVD"... I'm as sad as those crew guys watching Austin leave.
This show was as unenjoyable as it can get, I just can't get positive on Goldberg, I'm going to miss Austin. The matches with he exception of the tag title match went from bad to pathetic. I can't think of a worse Day After WM then this one. Jericho's in ring rant and the backstage skits, and the tag title match was the only decent part of this show... I'm not liking where this is going at all
cause there's limits to our liberties. 'Least I hope and pray that there are, cause those liberal freaks go too far.
I'll crush all opposition to me And I'll make Ted Kennedy pay If he fights back, I'll say that he's gay
you know, imho seeing jericho working *with* triple h and flair finally legitimized him as a serious "main event" heel in my eyes. i don't see him as being the lackey like some people have, i see him as another caniving accomplice. he looked positively evil. especially working over michaels with the walls. besides, jerciho's more of a cerebral asassin than triple h anyway ;-)
(edited by Jericholic53 on 1.4.03 0203) it says so right here in the wcw handbook!
I dug Raw tonight big time. I'm still an HHH fan, so I enjoyed the Hurricane match. To the people who say Hurricane was "destroyed" obviously didn't watch the same match I did. Flair had to save HHH from the Hurrichokeslam! That was wonderful. Flair, btw, is getting to be my new hero with his absolutely insane amount of cheating from the last two days. Plus, stealing that kids mask and stomping on it makes him on a level of heel only inhabited by Owen Hart.
Austin was ON during his promos last night. It made me cringe when he described his neck was "a pile of trash" because we all know it to be true. Seeing him walk up the ramp with his bag out of the arena was sad. I mean, yes, we all know he'll end up on Smackdown...but Raw without Austin just won't seem the same.
As for Goldberg... I'm down with it. His entrance music is still one of the best in the business. His intro with him walking to the stage and standing in the pyros is still great. I'm really interested to see what they can do with him. Don't knock it until it fails, guys!
Overall, a great post WM Raw. The only thing missing was a woman's match!
Get well soon Kurt, Batista, Randy, Edge, Kevin, Scotty, Bubba, Regal....
Man, that's depressing...and I know there's people I've forgotten!
looks like Edge had a setback ... from PWInsider: "Edge, who has been talked about a lot here on the site this past week, has suffered an injury as he prepares to return to WWE from his 2003 neck surgery.
