I don't know why it took my friend also losing HER baby last night, but I'm now officially not amused by the Kane/Lita angle.

I think when you throw that out there with stuff like the Heidenreich/Cole implied rape, I have to question why the hell I'm watching this crap. And before I get slammed with reminders about Mae Young or Katie Vick or even the Pillman/Austin gun story, I just realize this morning quite clearly that this stuff is ridiculous.

My hope is I can continue to enjoy the athleticism of guys like Shelton Benjamin and Eddie Guerrero, the promo ability of Ric Flair and the Rock, and the sheer quality of storylines that involve Jericho or even Foley, as opposed to the wrestlecrap. Otherwise, it's going to be difficult to stay a fan.

Sorry to rant. Had to just get that out.

A true heel would have tried again when she was laying in the hospital bed motionless...Kane likes it when they don't move...the Katie Vick type. And Kane should be allowed in the ICU since it is his wife after all...

Maven's getting a push, and deserves it. He sells pretty well (better than Orton or Benjamin) since he's had a lot of practice getting his ass kicked.

Nice to see Eugene again, but alas no Regal.

Jericho's new haircut is awful.

How long before the crowd starts shouting "Shitsky!" at our young master thespian?

While I hate when he shoves himself (or, especially, his untalented family) down our throats, in small doses, Vince McMahon is the greatest character EVER! Especially with the more-and-more ridiculous POWER STRUT~!

Gene Snitsky's acting was hilariously bad. It's the type of thing I see all the time on bad indy shows, like Live Action Wrestling which comes on at 1:00am on my local WB. It's painful to watch on that show. But on RAW, it's just so out of place, and down-right funny.

Hurricane turning heel? Well, anything to get him some air-time. Of course, I'm sure after a few weeks, WWE will remember that Shane Helms is small, and he'll be back to wrestling on Sunday Night Heat every week (god, I've turned into such a cynic).

I tuned in late to the baby-dying segment. At first, I though Lita had died of a heroin overdose. That's sure as hell how it looked.

Gotta' love Kane's "NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" reaction.

The six-man really showed that WWE's got some talent on that RAW roster. Benoit/Benjamin/Orton/Hunter. Batista is improving daily, and Ric Flair is Ric Flair. If they just kept shuffling this deck (and I don't mean Hunter v. Orton, then Hunter v. Benoit, then Hunter v. Benjamin, but have everyone going after the title), and add guys like Jericho, Christian, and Michaels into the fold, and we have some HELLA' good title matches that can be stretched out over SEVERAL months.

The answer to WWE's financial problems...

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

Is it just me, or does Gene Snitsky remind anyone else of Mr. Horse from Ren and Stimpy? His delivery, his facial expressions... It's Mr. Horse, baby!

Now we get to find out who arranged this whole thing. Of course, it's the RAW writing team, but that's not what I meant. Who arranged the hit on Kane's baby? Most people will say Kane, but there's a small possibility of Lita (or Matt) arranging the removal of "Satan's spawn". Thoughts?

....OK, is anybody remembering how this match even came about? Kane wanted Shawn Michaels. Michaels was on the HiLite Reel, so Bischoff promised Kane a jobber. I'm going to presume (storyline wise) that Bischoff randomly chose Snitsky. So unless Bischoff was part of the plan or Matt and Lita have ESP, there's no WAY that they chould hav pre-arranged this. I could go on about how lucky that this guy had a chair and happened to hit Kane when he was in front of her and he just luckily fell on Lita, but it's wrestling, so you have to suspend reality a little. But too many coincedences came about with this.

I actually liked this angle, but the one thing I hate about wrestling is how they can never deal in shades of grey with characters, for the most part. Why does Snitsky have to be a 'bad guy' all of a sudden? Why is Kane a 'good guy' now? Two weeks ago, he was bragging about crushing Michaels throat and calling Lita his property, and less than a week, he's a grieving almost father to be? I'm not opposed to him going face, but why not do it gradually? You could have had a scenario where the baby doesn't go and Kane, within the next 6 months, becomes a 'better man' (spurred by the fact that he almost loses the child). Matt comes back, begs for Lita, but starts developing feelings for the guy because she sees that he's gradually changing. The audience is torn who to go for, because we see Kane being a better guy, but we remember how this all started.

BTW, is anyone else picking up on the subtle message that the WWE is against abortion? After all, this was supposed to be a 'hellspawn' that only came about through the threat of physical violence, but everyone is upset that the baby is gone. Now Kane, the 'rapist', is on the side of good, while a guy who accidentally caused the baby to be lost is evil. Just saying.

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

Maybe the WWE is trying to capture the General Hospital story from years past, where Luke raped Laura & then they became the most storied couple in daytime television history, leading to a ratings bonanza for their eventual wedding?

What?!? I have sisters dammit!! Stop looking at me like that for knowing this story!! ;-)

Opening disclaimer: Last night I had the absolute crappiest seats-that-should-have-been-really-good that I've ever had. First row of "lower level" should *not* be "back row of the floor seats, with ushers, security & random people standing around in front of you". The Tron is now so big that, for a smaller building like Tucson's, they can't set up a stage, so all the entrances & such are also on floor level, with 100 or so of my best friends (& ushers & security) in between. I could whine on, but the key is that I'm probably not as giddy about this show as I usually am, through no fault of the workers.

Opened with a dark match of Mike Nox (of IZW in Phoenix) as heel, vs. ?Dale? Aguilera (I would have sworn they said "Dale", twice, but it could have been Aaron Aguilera from OVW), announced as from Tucson, hence the face. Short match, but pretty nice stuff. Crowd was happy with the face win.

About this time a couple in decently-homemade "Carmella" T-shirts came by. This is mostly notable because, after Carmella's loss" they went back the other way, toward the back. May have been her parents. If so, dad looks kinda reminiscent of Al Wilson.

Heat Taping:

-- Gail Kim vs. Nidia

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
Gail screwed up trying to do that "run up the ropes in the corner" move & went flat on her face. Nidia was momentarily really concerned, but recovered herself pretty quickly & did a really nice job of covering for Gail, providing a distraction while Gail got herself back together. (Hopefully they'll edit that for Heat.) They did a series of "trade punches" at center ring, nicely sold -- there was something very amusing about all taht flying brunette hair, rather than the usual blonde. Gail wins with a submission hold.

-- Rodney Mack w/ Jazz vs Stevie Richards: Jazz is really fun playing valet for Rodney -- she gets to be more loosened up -- its cute!

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
Stevie making a point to stay the hell away from Jazz on the outside was fun. azz distracts the ref, Mack crotches Stevie leading to the pinfall.

-- Val Venis vs. Chuck Palumbo: The woman in the audience who was campaigning the hardest for Val's towel did indeed get it. :-) This seemed really short for a Heat match.

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
Palumbo d. Venis

About this point Superstar Billy Graham & his party were escorted by to their seats. He looks really good up close too.

Sadly, no national anthem by Lillian. Also no crazy-go-nuts pyro to open the show. In fact, there was very little pyro -- Jericho & Michaels were the first of the night, & Shelton & Randy were the only others. We were packed in pretty cozy into the building -- I'm thinking they didn't really have enough room to do much.

Vince's announcement, plus Bischoff & Eugene. I'm glad y'alll got to see Eugene getting the hug from Vince, then imitating the power walk.

Stacy/Victoria vs. Trish/Molly. Why are we trying to act like Stacy's a wrestler? Yeesh.

Sni(t)ski's face taking up the whole big Tron -- yeesh. :-)

Rhyno/Tajiri vs. Hurricane/Rosey. Well what the heck is a good audience supposed to do about a mid-level face/face match?? It wasn't so much that we weren't into it as we just didn't know how best to convey that we were interested. (My other immediate problem was that the entire security staff decided to have a meeting *right in front of me* in the middle of this match. Grrr.)

I thought the Kane in the hospital segments were well done. Maybe it helps to have the volume waaay up in a big building to get the full effect of the Kane "wail". That certainly was a real hospital where they filmed (I'm guessing the University Medical Center at U of A, although I've never been there.) -- I wonder what the staff & patients in the adjoining rooms & floors thought was going on! :-)
(If one wants to pick out a quibble, why was Kane wearing a patient's id bracelet?)

BTW, Kane has at least 3 or 4 holes for piercings in his left earlobe. (Thanks to the giant Tron for sharing that.) Somehow I can't picture it.

We got a pretty long commercial piece for the next Diva DVD, mostly frolicing in the ocean. They did have Lillian in there, but they were all clips of her singing.

My goodness, Chris got his hair cut *short*! And the top looks even blonder. It didn't actually look as girly on TV as it did live.

HBK vs. Y2J. Arizona loves us our Shawn Michaels! There was a definite Jerichoholics contingent, but every time they tried a "Y2J" chant, it got hijacked into an "HBK". However, this was really the second face/face match in a row -- although in this case, we feel less bad about just picking one or the other. or just being "for" both. Clearly, y'all got more of the Christian goodness than we did. And the run-ins were totally suprising to those of us who couldn't see *anything* of the damn entranceway/aisle! Fun match though.

We got the taped "Kane distraught behind the brown door" piece. You went to commercial. Meanwhile, Michaels & Jericho were just recovering from being attacked. They chatted, assumed a cordial attitude (Common enemies, dontchaknow.) & shook hands so we could cheer both of them.

Maven vs. La Res Grenier w/ Conway. This was just fine. Conway was working his side of the audience effectively, & Maven looked good.

Coach just has this *shrill* edge to his voice over the arena speakers. Pity y'all didn't get the "Stacy Kiebler camera angle" view of Trish's ring entrance, in the very short, lace-hemmed dress. Is it obvious how much shorter Trish is than the 2 wannabe-bimbettes? They're all in comparable heels, & Trish is easily 4-5" shorter than the others.

6-Man Tag. Hunter throwing bodybuilder poses at Billy Graham was funny -- there was more of that than y'all saw. And the look on Batista's face when Hunter dragged him over there to pose too was priceless. ("You want me to do what???!?! Oh, jeeeez.") :-)

(One of those subtleties that's so subtle that it surely is a complete coincidence: Good guys Benoit & Benjamin were wearing royal blue -- U of A's colours are royal blue & red. Bad boy Batista was wearing gold & burgundy -- rival ASU's colours. With everybody else in neutral black.)

As much of the match as I could see was good, but with everybody standing up in the front, that was mostly just the high-spots. (Bad, bad seats.)

Faces did some lovely posing afterwards, & Randy made a complete & thorough pass around all the perimiter of the crowd, slapping hands. And that was it.

Next show in Tucson I'm going to be much more selective about what seats I get!

I don't think anyone's mentioned the brief tribute to Jim Barnett at the beginning of RAW last night. Barnett died of cancer over the weekend.

He provided some interviews in Ric Flair's autobiography, as he was the main promoter in Georgia for some time. It's been written that he was one of the most powerful men in the history of pro wrestling.

He was working as a consultant for the WWE for the past few years.

My own funny Jim Barnett story: A few years ago he was scouting the indy fed I worked for in Toronto (Apocalypse Wrestling). One of the indy promoters asked if I could help Barnett to the bathroom. Barnett proceeds to yell in a very stereotypical old man's voice: "I don't need to go to the bathroom noooow, but I will need to go in 20 minutes."

20 minutes later, he was looking around for me-I helped him to the back, and thankfully didn't need to unzip him and give him a shake.

-Vince/Bischoff/Eugene- Vince comes up with a great idea. Make a PPV full of stipulations and because of vision like this WWE survives and WCW didn't. Bischoff should have reminded Vince that this kind of sounds like "WCW Uncensored". Eugene comes out, Bischoff being nice to him was cute, but Eugene will have none of it as he punches Bischoff down. It's nice to see someone in a sling can clap easily lol... First order of business, can I vote for a different name then Taboo Tuesday?

-Stacy/Victoria vs. Molly/Trish- Victoria & Trish starts it out. Victoria hits her standing moonsault without the shake and hits it more square then she usually does (if that's the case she should stop doing the shake all together). Molly gets tagged in and Victoria goes for giant swing but a real weak finish. Stacy pins Molly with a backslide. Wow weak... Even this women division mark felt this match was lacking. Trish/Victoria was average in there and Victoria/ Molly was really off. I could accept Stacy getting a cheap win last week, but back to back weeks with weak pin attempts for the win. Not cool.

-Tajiri vs. Hurricane- I liked the tag match on Heat. Considering these are the better workers IMO of the two teams this should be great. But it was only given 2 & a half minutes... Hurricane is disappointed with the results and takes back the mask he gave the kid. The mom did some bad over acting.

-Michaels vs. Jericho- Who cut Jericho's hair? Who ever did should stay away from scissors like he's Arn Anderson. Christian is actually had some decent lines on commentary, he's the showstealer. A good match between the two. Jericho hit the Lionsault perfectly (something in the water that's making backflips hitting). Too obvious of a kip up on HBK part... Tomko runs in but got springboard dropkicked off the apron and lands with a thump. Sweet chin music on Jericho, slowly goes for the cover. Both guys look up waiting for a run in and low & behold here's Christian. Actually a pretty solid beatdown by the heels with good heat and good intensity by Christian.

-Maven vs. Grenier- Maven groomed his eyebrows! Is there some male grooming salon in Arizona that the WWE boys all visit? The third, 2 and a half minute match... So are La Rez still feuding with Benoit/Regal? Or as Benoit seems to be occupied it's going to be Regal/Maven?

-Divasearch- Of horror, concludes. The winner is.. Trish?! What's the Canadian exchange rate for a Q-million. Trish really needs to stop speaking like a valley girl and talk with more of her normal yet sarcastic voice. Like she usually does backstage segments. Ha it's really funny when Trish has guys hold the title for her like Tomko and now Coach lol. All this talk about ice cream & pies are making Trish hungry(oooh I want to go there but I won't). JBTrish is giving some financial advice and tells Christy to invest in decaf & Carmella to buy a personality(snap, that was mean). Trish will throw an initiation party to the winner & attendance is mandatory(that can't be a bad thing)... The winner of the divaseearch is.. Christy. She does seem like a much more better fit & comfortable with the whole thing. But I have to say Carmella got some of the most natural heel heat I've ever seen.

-Orton/Bejamin/Benoit vs. Flair/Batista/Flair- Damn Orton not going with the blue babyface trend that was done by his partners. Benjamin looked really good in this match especially early with HHH, like the nip up and stare HHH back as H3 was running the ropes. Benoit-Flair are now in and it's chop city as Benoit wins the battle & goes for the flying headbutt but HHH breaks the pin. All 6 guys in the ring, Orton gets thrown to the outside & clothesline from DC by Batista & he's out... We come back from break & it's 3 on 2. Benjamin still looking good as her Benjy splashes Flair & Bats but runs into H3 knee. Heels work over Benj but he eventually tags in Benoit who's his with Germans. Goes for the submission but that gets broken up. Orton runs back out, tags in, cleans house & RKO's Flair for the win. Show ends with a tight shot of a guy who did jack squat all match but a superstar 30 second finish. Hate that.

-OtherStuff- BTW did you know Lita was in the hospital, Jeez talk about forcing it to overshadow EVERYTHING. Kane blames Snitsky(It's amazing how Lita's character gets blamed for NONE of the happenings in the angle). Lita lost the baby, Kane screams "NOOOOO" (my sentiments exactly!). Lita looks zombified, is she going to join Linda McMahon in a brain hunt(Satire fans will get that)... Snitsky delivery is hilarious, "It's Not My Fault" I smell a catchphrase of "Aren't you going to thank me" proportions. Speaking of, the one time I want to see the SD rebound it gets pre-emptied lol, I know I'm sick!...

Vince and Readin' Randy Orton chat backstage...Evolution backstage, HHH doesn't like this Taboo Tuesday deal, Batista doesn't think much of us. Flair reminds HHH he's the best & no need to worry, good thing Trips doesnt need much convincing... I was going to complain about Simon Dean infomercial being a repeat, but then I remembered. It's an INFORMERCIAL of course it's a repeat lol

-Line of the Night: LAWLER "I'm worried for Triple H, You know some people aren't Triple H fans".. ROSS "Noooo?".. LAWLER "yeah it's true"
-Sign of the Night: "Cripple H" - I know it's not good, but I really didn't see any other of note.
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Benjamin. 2)Jericho. 3)Christian.

I appreciate Lita/Kane baby story is big news, but it was a bit much when they every segment & result of match to either go back to the medical facility or talk about going back to it lol. Snitsky interview was horribly brilliant. The result of the divasearch isn't too bad as Christy was always in my top 3... The 3 short matches (women, Hurri/ Tajiri, Grenier/Maven) either were off or didn't have enough time. The two longer matches (Main event, Y2j/HBK) was good). But it does seem they are trying to get over a move (RKO) more than trying to get Orton character over.

Well, here it goes (not quite in order).

1) Vince/Bischoff/Eugene -> Always fun seeing Vince doing his "power walk", or "the ants-in-the-pants walk." A little surprised seeing Eugene...thought he was a goner. We get to decide the matches, the opponents, anything. Whoopee. The Eugene imitating Vince's walk was hilarious.

2) Divas tag match -> what, was there one?

3) Snitsky speaks -> thank you for keeping us from 6 more months of this angle.

4) Hurricane/Tajiri -> OK match. When I saw Hurricane walk on the floor, I thought he was going after Graham (he was only a few seats from the kid). My saturn senses tell me that there is a turn coming. My way of turning Hurricane...have he and Rosey do the pose in the ring, and then...WHAMMO, Rosey goes down, and Hurricane attacks. Wish it was the other way around.

5) Kane at the med facility...WOW! He's actually wearing a shirt. What a change. But he's still upset.

6) HBK/Y2J -> Jericho's hair = a bit of an improvement, match -> nice match, but blame Christian...UGH.

7) We find out the baby is gone -> if only I had champagne with me. Noooooooooooooooooo!!! Nooooooooooooo!!! And Lita had the look like "Why did I have to go through this."

8) Maven/Grenier -> uh...

9) Diva Search -> Happy it is over. My girl won it, big surprise. At least Carmella was a good sport about losing.

10) 6 man tag -> A couple of questions while watching this match. A) Why is Flair still wrestling? B) Do you think it could have been better if Batista is in Orton's position? We say yes...talk about an uncontrollable monster we will have, and a huge threat for HHH. As for the match, typical.

Others: A) Thanks for reminding me who Jim Barnett was.
B) Simon Dean...every time I see a new character come in, I think "What will be his wardrobe?" Or "What is going to be his finishing move?" Now, I think of this, "What will be his weapon of choice, a bottle of vitamins?" I could just hear JR start yelling when he hits someone with the bottle. Anyway, I say 6 months and then down to OVW.

Smackdown Thoughts from last Thursday: Gangrel and Viscera is back. Last time we saw them, Gangrel was on the shelf with injuries, and Viscera was sliding on the concrete floor, falling on his behind. How will they do against the Undertaker, I say, not good. Hope they use Gangrel's music for their entry, but I say Viscera should just come from the back, while Gangrel does his coming from the fire thing.

Speaking of Smackdown, I'm surprised they said 7 Eastern/6 Central. Got to check TiVo for the change, or I would have to do that by myself.

Hopefully I could get my thoughts on Smackdown this weekend.

I thought the subtle Kane was pretty convincing acting. But then we get the NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Kane acting, and it ruined everything. Lita sure had a lot of Makeup on for being in the hospital for a week. Doesnt the girl have a family that would come to the hospital? Or is Kane her only family now?
And, I did get a nice Uma in Pulp Fiction vibe from her "thousand yard stare" as well! Heroin ODs look COOL!

Y2J gets a haircut? And this wasnt a part of the HILIGHT REEL!?!

Snitsky was sent to "do a job" yet no Al Snow jokes were made.

She's so wound up all the time, how would you know when she was excited?

Are we supposed to feel sorry for Kane?

*activate Mark mode*

The way it was shown on Raw, is that were supposed to feel sorry for Kane because he lost his baby. Excuse me, but isn't this the same guy who forced Lita to sleep with him to save Matt Hardy, and then went back on his word? Isn't this the same guy who attacked Matt Hardy becasue he was trying to defend Lita's honor? Isn't this the same guy who forced Lita to marry him? Isn't this the same guy who was forcing his pregnant wife to come to ringside with him so she can watch him beat the hell out of people?

I'm with Gene Snitsky on this one. Kane forced Lita to come to ringside. Kane was the one who brought the chair into the ring. If it was Snitsky's back who was turned, Kane wouldn't hessitate in using the chair. I can't feel sorry for Kane.

Don't you just get the feeling that they're just going to push Triple H as a face so much that we just kind of accept him that way, and then BAM they kick him right over to heel mode again. "It was me! It was me!
