The HHH-Nash segment went on WAAAAAAAAAY too long. I did like how the crowd turned on Nash during that segment.

That Austin-Bischoff segment would've been better if it was shorter. I did like Austin playing Bugs to Bischoff playing Daffy.

The Austin-Goldberg segment was surreal but they blew it with the stupid beer bath. Anybody notice a police officer near the ring during that segment? I did.

I like the Jericho-Piper feud.

Overall, another so-so RAW.

So, it's weird. I am sitting there watching Raw last night, more or less enjoying the action (or lack thereof, the stories). I actually enjoyed the women's match, forgoodnesssake - and I hardly ever do that. So I am watching the hikight rell and am anticipating the nash/trips whatever is happening and guess who comes upstairs, right at that moment for a talk? Mrs. AWARulz.

So we talk for a second and clear up whatever it was and about that time Y2J uppernuts Nash and the brawl is on. THe Mrs. watches through the whole thing, spellbound. (She hardly ever watches). At the end, when the car "almost" hits trips, she actually gasped! And then, as they went to comercial, she said, and I quote, "You're really sure that was all staged?" I said yeah, these guys have worked together for years, they're buds. And she says, " well, it sure convinced me. That was disgusting. I can't believe you'd watch that" and swept out of the room.

Gosh, wrestling disgusts my wife again. Must be getting better. I liked the brawl a lot. Austin/Goldberg. Yes! Ok, I gotta admit I liked the whole show, except maybe the fact that Y2J just disappeared after the brawl started until after the break. Austin is gold. The seg with him and Y2J was just right.

Gosh, I can't believe I am enjoying Y2J. Maybe it was the beard?

I dug the build-up and opening match. Austin and Bischoff have great chemistry and will make for good TV as long as they keep it fresh. Lawler wrestled his best WWE match in years. Hopefully, Morley gets a main event spot on Smackdown. This guy is totally under-utilized and would be a good oponent for Lesnar at the July PPV. Momentum died during the tag match, but started cooking again when Jericho came out. It will take him a month before he's getting the biggest face pops of anyone but Austin. Nash/HHH was lame - nothing new to add. The second hour of the show was forgettable, except for Christian's killer interview. I hope they find a way to let him keep SOME heat after next week's squash.

Watching that Lawler match last night, it made me wonder something...according to CRZ, was that one of the greatest matches of all time? I remember he had three guidelines that had to be met when Lawler wrestled. I can't remember what they were, though. Can someone help me out?

1. Dropkick
2. Piledriver
3. Fistdrop

GREATEST MATCH EVER.

(I usually substitute "heel cheats to get cheap victory" for "piledriver" due to the no piledrivers rule)

I said on tOA that Lawler/Morley almost made me consider pulling a sweeps stunt and recapping the episode...but that urge passed about 27 minutes into the Triple H/Nash brawl. ;-)

CRZ, where does the strap coming down figure into this? We would have had the clean sweep last night based on your list, but I for one could not help but feel cheated without the strap coming down to signal the big Lawler comeback...

If not for Nash and Trip Thanksgiving finally could have arrived? Feels hatred for the Clique intensifying further by the moment.

I hate Swamprats. Payback for the Celts against the team led by a wifebeater/child abuser (he did break his kids collarbone in public). And 12 wins until Banner #17.

I missed everything! I was too much into the Lakers/Spurs series. Had to show my support for the Texas team. I think/hope the Laker's reign is coming to an end. Maybe the Spurs will get 'em this time. I hope somebody does.

This is why I like this message board so much. There are actually intelligent people here that would seem pretty cool to watch the shows with. It's always better to watch wrestling with someone who knows enough about it not to ask about the Ultimate Warrior or Brutus Beefcake or Iceman King Parsons.

Which brings me to my stupid (or things I should already know) questions, I apologize in advance:

1. When did RVD hold the Undisputed Title? I've seen the pic, but don't remember the occasion.

2. How is Kurt Angle?

3. Why the hell is Hulk Hogan dressed like Captain America?

4. Where can I find a transcript of the Austin/Bischoff confrontation? If it's anything close to Austin/Angle, my life will be incomplete.

Apparantly, CRZ is REALLY done this time. Probably still going through the honey-do phase *cracks the whip*. Really I hope that's working out well. But is there a successor so-to-speak, any recap at all?

If you taped this episode, here's a fun game to play - Drink everytime Jim Ross seems audibly pissed off at the audience and says, disgustedly, "this partisan Canadian crowd". You'll be hammered by the HHH-Nash segment.

I gave this show one thumbs up and one thumbs down. Thumbs up for the story lines, they really picked up the pace and set some stuff in motion. We're all glad to see the IC belt back (my pick is Christian), and I especially liked the bit where Austin stunnered Coach. That's leading to something, mark my words. Thumbs down for the ringwork, though. The matches last night SUCKED. The only one that might have been any good was the ladies' match, which I missed. The others blew. I thought that the HHH/Nash bit was good but long, probably just because Nash had to limp his way out of the building. The last segment was also a bit long. I get the feeling that the matches, which sucked, didn't run as long as they were supposed to, and Stone Cold had to kill some time at the end of the show.

Ill just answer NEO's first question and leave the rest for others. RVD won the undisputed title from Undertaker on Raw 5/20/02, and then Flair reversed the decision because Takers foot was on the rope. He also held HHHs Raw-only World title and his own Intercontinental title over his head at the same time after beating HHH in a tag match 9/16/02.

I just want to chime in that I loved Raw last night. That was some entertaining television!

The only segment I really disliked (HHH/Nash fight) was so bad it was funny!

Some things I liked:

Austin comes out with a metal belt-carrying briefcase, just like Bischoff did his first night.

Austin stuns Coach to prove that hes still an asshole, and gives off a vibe of I could turn heel any god damn time I want, bitch! all night. I loved the way he hinted that he would re-hire Morley, then clarified that he was only upset that he wasnt consulted, not at the actual decision.

I was iffy about it at first, but over time they sold me on the way they went about their business and let the crowd cheer and boo whomever they chose. Didnt Goldberg just say last week that we paid hard money and could cheer whomever we wanted? It was nice to dispense with the usual turn the crowd on the hometown heel antics. Reverend D-Von, please forgive me for being Western Canadian. And hearing Diesel Sucks! was pretty damn hilarious.

They further the dissension between Test and Steiner, but then give them separate reasons to hate the French, and thus stay on the same page for at least one more match. Good storytelling....

I actually enjoyed Steiners wrestling! He and RVD just really clicked for some reason.

Tommy gives a simultaneous DDT and Neck-breaker!

The teased tension between Goldberg and Austin was great. Piped in Goldberg chants? If so, a whole lot of fans were silently mouthing his name.

Finally, they brought fans to ringside for the beer-bash! When Austin said he was going to have a beer bash, it sounded stupid, but the way it actually played out was brilliant. First, the usual beer-guzzling, then beer-girls with refills, then fans to help them drink it, finally Austin swimming in beer. Kick ass!!

Hello there.

I thought RAW was okay. The one thing I didn't appreciate is JR saying that Storm and Jericho were sucking up to the Canadian crowd. Did that not sound stupid or what, considering that they're both CANADIAN?! I doubt they cheered them, just because of that. Anyway, I'm not Canadian obviously, but that was kind of rude. I enjoyed Jericho, and Christian. I admit that Austin as GM is fun so far. I also have to say that HHH really impressed me here. His hair must've been really soft, flying all over the place like that. Enough cooing. His brawl with Nash went on and on and on.... I'm not blaming HHH here, Nash is in perpetual slo-mo. And that's only a taste of what's to come at Judgment Day! Still, I haven't seen HHH bleed like that in.....forever. Still, he shouldn't waste his blood on that slowpoke.

The IC title's back? Great. You notice I'm not jumping up and down just yet. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Canadian crowds rule. "Chris-tian! Chris-tian!" Not bad, but they won't earn my trust again in one night, it's gonna take LOTS.

The crowd was the star of the night. Are Canadian fans more intelligent, or is there something in the beer? I can't see a crowd full of American marks chanting "Lose it! Lose it!" after Austin suggested that he might lose his temper.

Chief Morely is boring. And he's welcome to take his boring, over-selling the two count ass to Smackdown where he can job to a slightly less boring Jaaaawn Cena.

This show seemed like a change of direction for RAW, and I hope they continue with it. Lots more promo time, reminding me of two years ago. What good is a non-wrestling Austin? Well, you've still got a great personality, who has good timing and a natural sense of humor. He's giving some much-needed laughs to the show. I hope he sticks around.

The midcarders really got their moment in the sun! I don't know if it was because they were Canadian, or the crowd was filled with smarks, but it was fun hearing guys like Lance Storm and Christian get their own chants.

And kudos for them for turning on that worthless piece of shit and his former best friend and life partner, Kevin Nash. Keep pushing those guys down our throat. But don't expect us to pay money for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Austin couldn't drink beer publicly as a result of that Debra thing. Is that not right? And if it is, does it not apply while he's out of the country? Because MAN, he made up for it last night.

I enjoyed the show quite a bit tonight. They really should have shows in Canada more often, then let that vibe rub off on to the American audiences.

And I've never understood why WWE doesn't take advantage of those Canadian audiences. It's pretty much understood that any Canadian will be MASSIVELY over, regardless of who it is. So why not book it that way, or at least, have some fun with it. Heck, even WCW did that. I distinctly remember watching a Nitro in Canada where the heel Team Canada (or whatever they were called) were booked as faces, and The Cat (as a face commissioner) was booked as a heel. One of the few smart things they did at the end.

I like the Austin stuff so far, with the exception of the Goldberg celebration. I understand why they did it, but I really didn't like it. Then again I was from the "Austin Rules/Goldberg Sucks" camp, so I tend to be biased.

Rest of the show was okay. RVD/Kane is starting to remind me of X-Pac/Kane. A fresh face is needed amongst the women.
