One thread to keep those who tape the show spoiler free.

The one thing I noticed was that the crowd was looking up the ramp all match...waiting for the waddle-in.

Why in the hell is Jericho SAVING HHH's title for him?!?!

Lita will be on Smackdown...

I wish Jericho and Christian would join her.

RAW used to be a no-miss for me...I have yet to miss one in years...

I think I'll TIVO it next week.

A Very Disappointed Iron Geek.

I wonder if the Bischoff/Lita thing was a setup to give Vince/Linda a reason to "fire" Bischoff as General Manager of RAW and bring Austin into the role.

That's about all I wondered during this show aside from "Are the Leafs and Flyers still in overtime?"

The only match I could keep interested in was Hurricane/Jericho. I couldn't even pretend to be interested in the main event because there was no way the outcome could possibly be different. I did like Steiner's little tag-in-from-the-wrong-corner-and-pin trick.

Okay...I DID pop for Gillberg. And I popped for Goldberg not being able to start the car.

Pretty sad when that's the highlights for me.

...and a Fashion Report, too.

Whoo!, in grey suit, and DeadCowMan, in black, get all intense. Special Guest Ref - I get a bad feeling already.

King, in his kingly purple/gold, and Coach, commentate.

Jericho, in beige/purple silhoutte trunks, vs. Hurricane, in mask and cape. I miss Jericho's beard. Nice match.

Mack, in BLACK hooded "Mack" tshirt, with Teddy, in a blue suit, vs. White Jobber, in a turquoise-top/black lightning bolted "Evans" trunks. Poor Evans looses. Poor match. Heat called - they want their match back.

Booker and Shawn work out some issues by talking. 'Cuz they know violence isn't the answer.

Coach chats with Lita, in green pants, pink arm-wraps and black tank top with chain and lock-locket. DeadCowMan, takes over. Lita - how can you NOT see where this segment is going? A waste of time? Yes. Channel-flipping goodness. But if she goes to Smackdown! then that'll TOTALLY mess-up the "womens division" there.

Whoo! and Thhhor, in black iron-cross tshirt, reveal their evil plot.

Samoan Jobbers, with Rico and new music (?) vs. Test, in black undies, with Stacie, in tight jean shorts and top, and SPP, in Chainmail and black "Freakzilla" tshirt and trunks. But, Scott, the chainmail won't do ANYTHING against the Samoans. Harvard even wears his mask to the commentary table. Steiner, NOT the legal man (he made the tag while in a neutral corner) uses his Roid powers of mack on Stacie. Poor match.

Rock, with guitar, sings. Gillberg! And they even do the sparlkes and extinguisher bit! Billy, in black "Next" tshirt, is over an HOUR late for work. Okay segment, but a few minutes too long.

Damn those Frenchies. I wonder if they'll always submit in their matches. Ha ha.

Spike, in "3D" tshirt and camo pants, and Trish, in black hat, sparkly trenchcoat, and black outfit, vs. Bubba and DVon, in differing "3D" tshirts. ROb and Kane, y'know, show up. Jazz and Teddy are there, too. Okay, so no more Jeff?

Rocky redux. Christian! stops Goldberg from destroying art. Gotta love how heel Rock takes those deep, soothing breaths.

Shawn, in ref shirt and striped warmups, as Special Guest Referee, Thhhor, in red iron-cross undies, wearing the belt, and spitting water, with Whoo!, vs. Booker, in black hot-crotch, flamin "BookerT" undies. Nice shot- Booker standing on the turnbuckle, looking down onto HHH. Nice match - call it a no contest. Where was Goldust? Hurricane?

Overall: Okay show. Not much wrestling. Bisch/Lita was a total waste of time.

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

Gillberg was hilarious. I think D-Von Dudley can make a very competent face, if they'll only pull the damn trigger on the breakup of the Dudleyz. Jericho had a good little match with Hurricane.

And the ending showed Triple H, Triple H's Bitch (Flair had his name changed), Nash and Michaels. There you go.

I thought it was an awesome show until they forgot to have an ending for the final match. Worst bit was the 5 Minute Whiteboy Challenge but I was even entertained by that. (Granted, I'm a Teddy Long mark.) But hey, HHH didn't go over Booker T, so it doesn't make Booker T look any weaker, right?

And for all of Rock's detractors, I present Hurricane. Before Rock came in, he was nothing more than a comedic squash victim but look at what he's done since Rock put him over. He's stood toe-to-toe with Ric Flair, HHH and Chris Jericho. Sure, he's lost the 1-on-1 matches but he's had believable near-falls in all of them and looked good. Seems possible that Rock has given Christian that rub too. Let's hope so because he's well deserving.

And I'm not ashamed to admit it, I marked out like a little girl for Gillberg.

Addendum: As for Lita going to Smackdown... That's exactly what I expected when Austin got fired. Now, I think we'll see a couple of other firings (The Dudleyz, maybe) and then have Vince get pissed off at Bischoff for firing some of the most popular talent and fire Bischoff, bringing everyone else back.

What an awful Raw.

Lita is going to Smackdown, unless she returns with Austin and JR. Why put her on the show with the women who can't wrestle, instead of using her to add depth to a nicely developing women's division?

Booker is officially buried, and the belt is Triple H's for the forseeable future, unless he lets Nash borrow it for a month or so, which is just as bad.

The Rock is leaving soon.

I don't get Smackdown, so I can't watch Benoit, Rey or Guerrero. I also won't have wrestling to watch if I boycott Raw, so I'm stuck watching it, unless I want to pay ten bucks for TNA (no) or watch the lucha on the spanish channel (hell, no). I'm screwed.

I have made my comments known on the supposed Main Event in another thread. But they tried D-Von without Bubba and it didn't work. Bubba is over because of his charisma. D-Von has limited charisma. With the current writing and booking, they can't put D-Von in situations in which he would get over. With that said, I am sure we will be seeing D-Von vs Bubba soon enough after the PPV.

Rock is leaving after Backlash until next year, so I am not sure why they made Goldberg look human tonight and put Rock over strong. Goldberg should have been seen as a monster, with no ring time except for killing mid-carders.

Damn, tonights RAW makes me wish back for the days when WCW Nitro was on the air and I could switch back and forth between the two shows when some thing bad came on. But now, Booker and Y2J won't get a title shot anytime soon. It doesn't even seem to be about the title anymore, its all about the Kliq. But then should anybody really worry about a title brought in just to make someone happy.

Also, did I hear Al Snow screaming for WWE and MTV to make another season of Tough Enough so he would not have to take part on RAW like this one anytime soon?

Underwhelming (or, "par for the course").

--good opening match...
--Rodney Mack - don't care
--Lita's cleared to "wrestle" - don't care. Lita on SD - I'l pass.
--3MW vs. Test/Steiner - don't care. Test/Steiner feud? Yow.
--Rock Concert 2: Part I was OK, but it just...dragged...on
--Spike/Trish vs. Dudleyz - heel Dudleyz might pique my interest. Didn't they break up the Dudleyz once already? How'd that work out for them? (Although, I still think Reverend D-Von had potential). Run-in was good, I guess, but I really can't be bothered to care about anyone involved. Well, maybe Trish/Jazz.
--Rock Concert 2: The Encore - great beat-down on Goldberg, who took some nasty-looking chairshots. Big ups to Billy-boy.
--HHH/Booker - good match, but the ending FUCKING SUCKED! Nice of you to stop by the ME scene, Book, but you need to be going. Say "hi" to the midcard for me.

Booker winning the belt would have saved the show. But, of course, that would take away from the Kliq-fest.

Why put her (Lita) on the show with the women who can't wrestle, instead of using her to add depth to a nicely developing women's division?

Because Lita can't wrestle, either.

Tonight's RAW sucked. There's no two ways about it. The Rock/Goldberg segments (all 45-minutes of them) had the total opposite affect on me, and I have less than no interest in their match at Backlash now. They've taken an angle so easy to book, and totally fucked it up. They've been doing that a lot lately, haven't they?

That show was terrible.

Jericho is probably the only competitor in a PPV main event to be the curtain jerker for 2 straight weeks on the Raws leading up to his PPV match.

Some guys get their heat back after a lost match by leaving somebody laying. Hurricane loses a match and THEN gets beat up by a 50+ year old manager FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON!

We get the replay of the Steiner-Test-Stacy situation from several weeks back.

A Lita segment that could have been handled in a couple of minutes but, instead, they dragged it on and on until the ending lost its drama (what little it had to begin with).

We get Rodney Mack against some random jobber (what is this, Superstars from the '80s?) in a "Beat Whitey" match.

I never thought I would complain about not having a Women's match but, I've grown to like the Women's division and usually find it to be one of the best parts of Raw. We don't get the Women's match because they use Trish and Jazz in another week of the Helter Skelter Dudley Boys angle.

I will admit that I actually liked the Gillberg stuff with the Rock. Plus, it was funny when Goldberg's car quit on him and he had to get out and run out the door. Reminded me of Hogan with the motorcycle that ran out of gas at the bottom of the ramp. They are creeping toward final year WCW status more and more by the week.

Then, for a main event, we get a weak "No contest" decision from another belt shot finish. Adding to the unintended WCW like comedy, Shawn Michaels gets his pants ripped off by HHH during a simple "shove the ref into the ropes to knock the face off the top rope" spot.

This show was a disaster. I'll try to forget this one as much as possible and HOPE things improve next week.....PLEASE!!!

But thats exactly what happened. The Hurricane did just pin Naitch last week. So it did have somewhat of a reason, and was just The Nature Boy getting whats left of his drained heat back.

Tonight's show had some entertainment value for me, but the hideous ending left an awful taste in my mouth.

-The evening was almost redeemed for me in one single moment as Goldberg came down to the ring, and Rock told Gillberg "Do you know how much trouble YOU'RE in now?" Perfectly summed up the entire Rock character in that one moment. Yeah the segment dragged, but think how empty Raw is going to feel when he leaves, and it's all-Clique, ALL THE TIME~!

-I actually really like the Dudleys angle, as it has depth to it and shows them as people, not just caricatures. They love each other, they need to have their jobs, but they have a major disagreement between them right now. Right now the only things with any decent booking to me are the Dudleys and the women's division.

-Is it me or has Jericho gone to about half-speed in the ring in the last year? Watching him and Hurricane I just felt like it should be moving more quickly than it was for the people involved.

-If Teddy Long would have at some point said "Pleeze Beeleeve It" after mentioning the Haterade, I would have been certain that someone was reading this board, and really liked DJ Frosty Freeze.

-The crowd sure did like seeing Lita back, and so did I. I hope somehow when it's all done she ends up staying on Raw. Perhaps having a group of women around all working to improve their work will encourage her to follow suit.

-About the ending...what more is there to say? I don't blame HHH for the crappy booking anymore, as in the end with WWE the buck stops at Vince McMahon's desk. So I direct all hearty "fuck you" sentiments his way.

My favorite segment is when Goldberg blew out the transmission. The car audibly stalls. Then he sheepishly gets out of his car and runs after it to cue the Rock still being in the building.

My college roommate who doesn't usually care for wrestling laughed like hell during this. Also when Goldberg took a left out of the garage while Rock's limo took a right.

This segment tickled me.

I can see what you're saying but,

1. Flair was beaten by a HBK superkick. Why not get his heat back on HBK who is also on the other side of his PPV 6 man match.

2. It's Ric Flair!! He doesn't need to get any heat back.

No complaints about Naitch from me; if anything he tries to get HHH's matches over more than HHH does. His heel manager antics (especially the mask bit a couple of weeks back) are the only things I look forward to during the main events.

And as far as TNA goes:

WWF = contracts
TNA = Can't afford to keep Vader for more than 2 weeks.

The only talent on TNA that the WWF would steal (and I'm sure they will) are Styles, AMW, and Trinity. When I watch TNA all I can compare it to is a special 2-hour Sunday Night Heat.

Just saw it a half hour ago. It sure is a little frustrating to see Mr. Big Nose still have the title. I thought he was going to lose it. Just thinking...because RAW was in Atlanta, wouldn't it have been funny to have a finger poke for a pin?....I guess not.

I thought the Rock concert was hilarious. Gillberg??? Who could be the next "oldie" to come in? Bob Backlund? Duggan? Doink? Anyway, I thought Rock was going to use the guitar on Goldberg. As for the car stalling, also funny.

Also...do we need to see Bischoff in every other segment? How many times have we seen Stephanie on Smackdown in a month? Once, maybe twice?

Hope Smackdown is better...oh yeah, Piper/Rikishi match. And, who else is going to make a cameo appearence? We'll see.
