I KNEW someone would do this. I'm going by Smallville rules. In that very same Wiki article you linked to, it reads:

"In the television series Smallville, blue kryptonite suppresses Kryptonians' powers and removes their sensitivity to green kryptonite."

The Darren Young joke, however, is gold (kryptonite).

Jesus, Johnny you should have learned by know that Smallville is almost 99% wrong about Superman. Would red mist turn Cena, heel, because if so, people should bring buckets of it at Extreme Rules.

Smallville is Superman to me, but this is really a discussion for another thread. (The W)

I really dug Brock's promo. I'm buying into this, like, with money. Making the match Extreme Rules is sweetening the John Cena Could Get Hurt and Maybe Even Take A Vacation pot. I think absence for a few weeks, in violation of Cena's insistence to The Rock that he's around every week, would make the heart grow... fonder...? No. Less hostile. Maybe.

I also like Cena admitting he's scared of Brock but he'll fight. That's admirable, and even the London crowd popped for it. Why, even Cena's youngest fans can understand the idea of meeting the scary bully in the schoolyard and fighting, whatever the outcome may be.

Brock, don't be a bully, be a Superstar. No, F that. Be a bully. Be an asskicker. Make piss run down John Cena's leg.

I look forward to seeing new champ Jericho celebrate in Punk's hometown and in front of Punk's family and friends and slowly realize that he's the guy Brock Lesnar will now come after.

In Japan the mists have different properties, but that is rarely played up in the US (though it is awesome and should be).

Green - Blinds
Red - Burns
Yellow - Paralyzes I think.

I had to be remembering that from Mutoh's WCW run.

Now I figured that Brock would likely get around to Punk for SummerSlam, but on second thought if Lesnar's gone after WM against Rock, it makes sense they would want Cena/Brock for the SS headliner. Add to that the unlikely-WWE-ness that would be Punk going over twice in a row in his own hometown... Tracker is persuading me on this.

It's one thing for Lesnar to tacitly align himself with Johnny and run through all the faces - but if they are really going for the 'unstoppable monster/it's real this time' vibe, why not have Brock take on face and heel alike?

I really hope that the Big Show/Great Khali team was a one-off deal ...

Also, I thought next week's 3 hour show was the annual draft episode, but nothing draft-related was mentioned last night. What's the word on that?

Probably realized that with "supershows" every week, there's no point in having a draft.

The Draft and brand split is still used to divide the talent into two tour groups for RAW and Smackdown house shows. And presumably, the Draft would still be a necessary tool to "freshen up" the rosters for said tours and for TV. I believe most, if not all, Smackdown talent reports to RAW every week for Supershows, but that's not necessarily the case for RAW talents going to Smackdown. They'd still need a way internally to separate who works for which show for touring and for the occasional Smackdown vs. RAW storyline purposes.

If there was any semblance of face onscreen friendships that lasted longer than a month, the draft would be a great way for Johnny to break up partnerships and surround faces with heels on either show.

Tajiri busted out the black (blinding) mist during his feud with Jamie Noble as well. Poor Nidia... she never saw it coming.

Green Blinds
Red Burns
Yellow Paralyzes
Black Blinds LONG TERM
Blue KO's
Silver Turns you into a member of nWo Black and White (literally, as soon as it hits you Stevie Ray and Buff Bagwell are there with a shirt)
Purple turns you into the bizarro you
Orange is really someones leftover Orange Julius, so it's no biggie
Brown makes you job to Great Khali over 4 consecutive SmackDown! tapings in a build to nothing
Clear makes HHH go into the ring

Hope that clarifies everything.

Tensai going over Cena was weird, I too see some time off for Cena after the PPV.

I'd like if the brands were seperate again, I liked having each show focus on a different set of wrestlers, instead of what's happening now. I like seeing lower card guys get time to work. I liked guys being kept away from each other except for special occassions (Royal Rumble, etc.). I don't need to see guys on every show, whether Michael Cole or Funkasaurus.

If they don't feel that the draft would help ratings--and given how little it would matter, I don't think it would--then they could easily explain any roster moves they want to make by saying that John L., as GM of both brands, can move whomever he wants.

This is an excellent point. For the first time ever, one man is in charge of both brands. There needn't even be competition between RAW and Smackdown since their aren't contentious figureheads for either brand. John Laurinaitis can do whatever he wants, rearrange both brands however he wishes. Unless Big Johnny decides a Draft is what the people want. #PeoplePower

I would love them to do this too, but I think even the WWE realized they aren't capable of running two seperate brands and have both be successful. Weren't there a few Smackdown house shows that brought in less than a thousand people at it's worst before they started putting the Smackdown guys on RAW to get them more exposure?

RAW and Smackdown both as top level shows would be a great idea, but RAW is shown by the WWE to be the top brand. If you don't want to miss anything important, watch RAW. You can skip Smackdown/Superstars/NXT/Vintage Collection/everything else.

Hasn't Del Rio already been moved to Smackdown without explanation? I kind of think that's just the way things might go now. But doing a draft anyway and shamelessly pretending it's consequential does sound like something they'll do.

I thought the Brock video was one of the best they've ever done. That has to be the Lesnar they present all year. In that context he comes off like the biggest, most unique act in the company, even more special than Rock.

I'm still pretty gullible: I thought Kane was treating Ryder like a manager-level sub-jobber because Orton was going to RKO him and give Zack the win. Ryder is 0-4 on Raw since he came back, four clean losses. So in the long run, all his work got himself onto TV as a guy they'll beat hard to get heat for their pushed heels because people really like him. Which I guess is better than being on Superstars, but still seems like such a waste. Considering where they're currently at, he and Ziggler both probably wouldn't mind working with each other in a U.S. title feud again.

Going all-in on YES is great, makes me wonder if they have any intention of keeping Bryan a heel beyond Extreme Rules. A threeway feud with Del Rio could do it, basically the same dynamic as the Cena/Punk/Del Rio feud last fall. Bryan could even have a change of heart and do the right thing and save AJ from the abuse of Del Rio and Ricardo.

Wow, that Undertaker title win over Austin occurred at Over the Edge '99, a.k.a. the event where Owen Hart died. Is this the first time any footage from that show has been the light of day?
