I don't think Cena was mocking Rocky for having a promo writer, but that he jotted notes down on his hand like he was cheating on a test. C'mon Dwayne, you're one of the greatest promo guys ever and a professional actor memorizing scripts all the time! Not even Kelly Kelly resorts to scribbling her promo points on her arm.

I don't think Henry is being "buried" for getting hurt, it's that the SD! roster is so thin. Punk pretty much said as much in an interview last week, that Henry is being forced into action due to all the injuries, etc. He isn't healthy enough to do much more than take Sheamus' big boot and get pinned... And Orton comes back this week...already? And then where does he fit in at Mania?

This may be crazy person land, but - Rock really need to be shook up if this was going to be a feud. Maybe what looks like Cena catching the Rock by surprise about his notes was actually really good work? In whatever meanings of that word you need.

I hope all these CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan matches mean they're actually going to do a CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan match with a finish someday after WrestleMania.

Why is it that the only piece of long-term continuity Lawler remembers and constantly cites is that time Sheamus attacked him?

I loved Ace wearing Smackdown blue and Long wearing RAW red.

Irony is being happy to see Cena come out and piss Rock off because Rock wasn't taking things seriously enough.

I alluded to it in the last SD recap, but I'm fairly certain that this was supposed to be Wade Barrett before plans changed, for obvious reasons. To a big extent, it's definitely a simple matter of Henry being called into action at an hour of need. I'd also like to think that Henry's going to be rewarded for this down the road...assuming his injuries ever heal up.

As for Orton, I have no idea where he goes right now, so he's a likely candidate for the MitB match.

Things Lawler Remembers;

- Swagger being a beast.
- Sheamus attacking him.
- Every single time Cole gets owned, Lawler will at times use it to try and rein Cole in.
- When he and Ryder were a tag team for a match, hence why he says positive things about him often.

Lawler has been killing it on commentary for months. Months. He's stepped up his game considerably for the last year.

Anyone else catch when Lawler called Rock versus Cena a dream match akin to Tyson vs. Ali facing off in their prime only for Cole to follow up with "...or like Ali versus Fraiser!"

yea, I don't really like how Mark Henry's being forced to sell losses now, they could just take him off TV until Wrestlemania, assuming he's going to be in the MiTB match for the WTF moment... But the one thing that I really respected about Mark Henry throughout the years, he is willing to do anything and everything asked of him. Rather it be jobbing out or winning the world title. I really hope the WWE remembers him by giving him a first year Hall of Fame spot when it's Henry's time to retire.

Little thing the Rock did that I enjoyed: he walked around the ring as he did his promo, facing all around the audience, like he was an actual person delivering a speech. Nowadays, guys always deliver their promos directly into the hard camera, making it feel all the more staged. (Same goes for always aiming the finishing hold so they're facing the camera, which is even less realistic.)

The Curtain Jerker was all tease: tease for the Mania matches both Punk and Bryan have with Jericho and Sheamus, respectively, tease for a true Punk/Bryan feud and match down the line, and tease for the Laurinaitis/Long shenanigans to come.

Kane demolishing a few dudes who just went through a long convoluted match that featured a ton of spots towards the end is okay, because the dudes just went through a match; it isn't like he came out pre-match and made them all look like chumps.

I anticipated the Show and Sheamus vs. Henry and Rhodes match all night if only to see the embarrassing moment this week. I don't think Henry's getting buried so much as working limited.

On that note, if Henry and Kane teamed up and called themselves the Company Men I think even the folks who still think 'it's all real' would get it.

Eve's promo was actually pretty rockin', even if a part of me was really just fascinated with how awesome her hair looked and how it may have smelled. Seriously, that head is lush, I've never had a thing for hair before. She looks like a real life Gerudo from Ocarina of Time, too. Well, at least I now have a counter for whenever my girlfriend goes off about Sheamus...

The Rock delivered the goods as only the Rock can, and then Cena delivered too. Rock being rattled by Cena was actually pretty cool; I remember in Rock's bigger feuds he'd get rattled like that, most notably with Austin and HHH.

Lastly, I even have the silly 7-11 cup with the Miz on it, and if they keep bringing up how he isn't on the Mania card and then he really isn't on the Mania card I might just cry.

I didn't notice the notes on Rock's wrist until Cena mentioned em, but as soon as he did, I went back and sure enough, there they are, that was disappointing. Rock is one of the biggest guys ever, mostly due to his charisma and ability to deliver a promo. Besides the disappointment, I was glad to see Cena come up and interrupt the rest of it, because all I remember is Rocky rattling off "trending worldwide" over and over again. Rocky might have the audience, but as far as content, Cena had more of an impact in the 2-3 minute he spoke than Rock did in 15.

Jericho/Punk had real potential to be classic, any other year, this would have to be the match that closes the show. Second time I've seen Jericho return to using the Walls where the knee is on the side of the head like his WCW days, and not the WWE version where it's just the basic Boston Crab.

Great Raw all in all, which hopefully they gained back some of the audience they lost to the race while it was being red flagged.

Between the Triple H, Jericho and The Rock's promos I feel that the theme being presented for this Mania is "WWE USED TO BE FILLED WITH GOOD WRESTLERS, NOW ALL THATS LEFT IS THIRD RATE BORING PIECES OF CRAP LIKE YOU GUYS."

I'm ambivalent because all parties involved really have had great promos to set these matches up, but the message seems counterproductive.

I'm hoping CM Punk brings out Larry Zbyszko to be in his corner at WrestleMania (but it'll probably be just Bret Hart).

That overrun ran so long I had to go find the last six minutes on YouTube.

HBK RETURNS is the new TRIPLE H RETURNS, I guess

Cena delivered some pwnage tonight. Good stuff. But I wonder what the point of trying to position Cena as the face and Rock as the heel is when the Miami crowd will be behind their boy Rocky no matter what?

Also... wow, Kelly Kelly wears a lot of makeup.

They're not trying to position them like that at all. They want 50/50 "Let's go Rocky"/"Let's go Cena" stuff. This is probably the best way to try that.

Jericho/Punk better get the time it deserves at WM.

I'll assume that the Rock writing down stuff on his arm, and being called out for it is all simply part of the angle.

Rock's never done it before, and now all of a sudden it's all over his arm?
Just another way for Cena to point at him being Hollywood and making this angle "real"

I like that Jericho pointed at the title, making the feud more about who is the best = who is the champion.
I don't think this match will need anything else.
Their match will most likely be the best match of the night. Probably won't be allowed to steal the show, because of Rock/Cena's and HHH/Taker's hype.

Not much more needs to be said about the main event promo, but I particularly loved Cena's delivery of the line, "Keep trendin'." He really made is sound like the worst insult he could give the Rock.

As far as the rest of the show, I actually really liked the Miz/Cena match, until they decided to just end it out of nowhere. The show was pretty packed, but another 5 minutes on that match would have been nice. And both Miz and Ziggler really ought to have a place at Mania, and I'm a little upset that so far neither one of them does.

That was the opinion Da Meltz had regarding the notes on the arm. Something about how they continued to act in the back almost as if trying to fool "the boys". It sounded like they just made it obvious that the "you write notes on your arm" was in the script.

Well, the W picture of the day is doing any favors with me in the Cena department. It almost looks photo shopped with everyone looking four different directions sorta like Mitt's campaign right now. Anyway, Cena did get the better of Rock. Rock did seem frazzled at the end, but the real problem I have with this feud is Cena's promos it sounds like the dutiful son that stayed behind while the other son went out and actually did something with his life. Someone said Cena sounds like a jerk, because he is. Cena interrupted Rock, why, because the fans were being entertained? God forbid, the fans get something out of all this. No, we have to stop that. We have to shove Cena out there to go all shoot promo and have the crowd become mixed if it was, I thought I heard booing for Rock, but the crowd was very ADD all night.

I also think Rock even with the hand written notes did his best realizing the Portland crowd was just weird. The fact he had to conduct the crowd was amazing. I also think, the people vs. the boys is a bad way to go with this thing. No one cares about the boys in the back. Half if not over half, the fans boo like Swagger, Ziggler, Jericho, Bryan and so on. Rock's counter to beating Cena for the sake of the people who were just sick of him was the most valid point made last night. I also like Rock saying the fans are not morons, they know what I meant when I said I was not leaving. So, I wonder if they are going to actually payoff the WWE vs. the fans storyline or will it disappear on April 9th and we get more happy go lucky half the fans could give a shit if he is there, but thats ok John Cena or will we actually *gasp* get some character development after seven years of the same old shit.

Other than that, the rest of Raw was good. I am not sold on Eve though. She kept moving her head back and forth during her promo like a dog hearing traffic outside. Mark Henry needs time off stop being morons and give it to him then bring him back for Mania or a week before to be part of the Raw vs. Smackdown tag match. Punk vs. Jericho is setting up for a lot of lofty expectations, I just hope they realize this going in and have a hell of game plan for that match.

Yeah, seriously. If it's on TV, it's a work. And it's good work because it's believable. That includes "Cena said something SO OUT OF LINE Rock was frazzled. Cena gets under Rock's skin!!" It's storyline progression, and it's necessary. Every time Rock and Cena were on the same show, Rock one upped Cena. Rock Bottomed him, out promoed him, out crowd reacted him, looked better at Survivor Series than him. It's about time Cena got something on Rock when Rock was actually physically present. I liked it, it was good, but it wa'nt no shoot. "Rock looked genuinely frazzled!" Uh, what does Dwayne Johnson primarily do for a living now (one of Cena's main points)?

I'm not man enough for Eve Torres.
