Now, if he had name dropped Wally Karbo or Ken Resnick, I would have shit my pants.
I can attest to the Zumhoffe thing. It's a practice all over Midwest indy locker rooms.

- Very good promo by Cena.
- Punk was great on commentary, as usual.
- Kofi Rhodes...
- Weird Battle Royal of Doom! WTF!
- Wait, Mark Henry isn't cleared to wrestle in one of the PPV main events on Sunday, but he can wrestle on RAW one (!) day later?
- Yes, Jericho isn't "there" yet. I agree. He needs to step up big time. Soon.
- So, Undertaker vs. Triple H is a Hell in a Cell match now? I don't like this at all. The streak should be the main focus at Wrestlemania, nothing else. The Cell gimmick kind of overshadows the streak being on the line. I hope they don't add Shawn Michaels as ref as well => total overbooking!

I think Orton will still win his way into a SD title threeway since he was denied a fair opportunity by Daniel Bryan. Otherwise Teddy has a hell of a ringer to fight for his candidacy.
McIntyre/Gabriel/DiBiase/Primo/Hunico are good workers who would normally be left off the card, but depending on how the GM match shakes out there might be some room for at least a few of them. Maybe the heel party photo op was just a timekiller and it'll be a one-on-one match like Orton vs. Del Rio, in which case your Bank runneth over again. I feel like speculating further with another episode of their TV imminent is a waste of my time -- AND YET I LOVE IT.

Originally posted by DU 'm with you 99% of the time here, but man, do these guys reallyneed 20 minutes to a half hour every week, every February? UT kinda earned that "WHAT?"-ing by rambling like he was. They just can't help but be overly pretentious with these segments, and you can cut ten minutes out and get that same crowd reaction it took them 20 minutes to finally get if you cut the "WE'RE THE LAST OF OUR KIND!"/"I'm a BUSINESS, man, not a businessman!" (though I'd mark hard if HHH dropped that one) references by half (especially with five to ten other guys still who could be at WM who have decade-long roots). If they weren't so hellbent on telling us "THIS IS IMPORTANT!" over and over and over, I'd be a lot more inclined to believe them.
Well I was partially saying that just to poke the bellybutton of the people who have been bothered. But I do think they really are the last of their kind when it comes to being able to do a serious pro wrestling angle about a-fightin'. The appeal to me is that it's practically the only thing that bothers to take the time to treat itself as important. Given the same time and carte blanche enjoyed by Taker and HHH, I think a lot of other talent would still make the match secondary to talking about how "I'm more entertaining than you" or doing puns about their opponents' names. (Although funnily enough, the closest thing to an authentic wrestling promo not done by HHH, Taker, Jericho, or Punk in a long time was Ziggler and Ryder's interviews for their feud on YouTube.) | John Orquiola

| #69 Posted on 21.2.12 1844.35 | If I may make a prediction, I believe we're not going to get a MITB ladder match this year at Mania. I can see them holding off on it until... say, Summerslam, or maybe one of the more jobberific PPV's later in the year that could use the little boost provided by such a gimmick match.
So I'm thinking all these guys being fantasy booked into the MITB match may well instead be booked into the Long/Johnny GM battle. Because everyone loves an eight man tag match that lasts about three minutes! Remember the one from last year? Yeah, me neither.
If this happens though, it means guys like DiBiase, Swagger, Hunico, etc may be relegated to the pre-show battle royal and/or backstage segments during the show.

I think it would be great for Santino to win and then be the first one to fail in his attempt to cash in the shot and LOSE the WWE/World Title match, if only because it would break the streak and remove the "it is inevitable that this man with the briefcase will be the WWE/World Champion"-thing they always have.

Did everybody hear the squeak from her? She nearly had a cardiac arrest when he went over & shook her hand. She was still in meltdown as they flocked back to their seats.
Lite-Brite. Tee-hee.
That was just an ugly, ugly spot in the ME. Almost looked like there might have been a communication problem, whether Show was going to toss Ziggler all the way to the table, or whether Kofi & Wade were supposed to catch Dolph. Glad that Dolph is OK, & that Wade isn't much, much worse.
After the match, Jericho quite clearly asked the ref, "What happened to Wade? That was interesting.

I don't think the logistics of hanging a cell over the ring at a stadium is that problematic. At the WM in Phoenix, they had a big, over-arching structure that they used for a bunch of stuff. It was *big*. (Not finding good embeddable ones. Search or try here (prowrestling.about.com). or here (images3.wikia.nocookie.net).) | Ecks

They were the two who hae been shunning Zack Ryder for many a week. But NOW they start defending him? The Bellas were also the two who went after Alberto Del Rio because he was/is rich. Surely they, of any of the divas, would understand Eve's motivation for going after Cena.
After the first segment, my conclusion was that maybe the twins would turn face, or at least have their character change a bit. But then later, they wrestle Kelly Kelly and Aksana (who is the new owner of the worst elbow drop in history), and the Bellas cheat to win. Wha??
Was there really no other divas to have the Eve segment with?
Overall, Raw was a good show, so it ultimately doesn't matter.

| #80 Posted on 22.2.12 0657.18 | Instant Rating: 7.95 | So this Kane/Cena storyline was one of the rare storylines where everyone comes out of it looking worse than they did coming in.
As the antagonist, Kane looks weaker because he apparently failed to do any of the things he set out to do (i.e. make Cena embrace hate [except he seems to hate Eve Torres pretty well now, but I'm not sure that's what Kane had in mind]).
Zack Ryder looks like a tool (even more than usual?), because his part in the story was getting dominated by Kane every turn, including a "broken back", seeing his girlfriend kiss his best friend, and now having her tell everyone that their relationship was a scam and he could never sexually please her.
John Cena was the ostensible victor in the feud, yet they had to invent this bizarre heel turn from Eve Torres so that he could save face. Also, be a star, but if there's ever a woman you don't like, totally fell free to call her a hoe and a skank and tell everyone that she has many sexually transmitted diseases.
And Eve Torres. Her long strange trip starts in the story started with her deigning to put up with Zack Ryder. That quickly leads to them being inseparable, her watching as he is quickly destroyed for several weeks in a row, her being the bitch who blames John Cena for Zack Ryder's troubles (as if that isn't the correct assessment), then the woman who makes out with other dudes, and finally whatever this was supposed to be tonight where the dates with Zack Ryder and being threatened by Kane and all the yelling and rides in ambulances are somehow all so that she can get with John Cena. I think any sane person would say that a much easier way would maybe to have been to, IDK, be flirty to John Cena a month ago?
This whole storyline has been a clusterfuck, and the writers responsible are at fault for either writing a horrible ending to an obviously temporarily storyline that was going to get shunted to the side after Elimination Chamber so that Cena could focus on his already announced Wrestlemania opponent, or they are at fault for writing themselves into a storyline that they could only resolve with a heel turn that instantly makes the whole thing story make no sense. | | Pages: Prev 1 2 3 4 5 6 Next
